Outside our usual 1950s criterion for "equivalents", but some people might find it worthwhile, nevertheless: from "The Twilight Zone"; Season 1, Episode 6; Nov 1 1985.

The story line is a more-than-average test of our "suspension of disbelief" . . . but it works anyway.

Thanks for converting these into black and white episodes taking away the color makes the newer stories blend in with the older ones.
@one-step-beyond-19592 жыл бұрын
@@derekseven1647 It's not 100% ideal . . . because the method of filming is different for color vs B&W. But I still think it's the best thing to do in this context . . .

A similar story of an antique writing desk with a hidden compartment being a conduit between a far past mailbox is reminiscent to me. Equally powerful of impossible love between the abyss of time. 'Breaks this old widower heart again. TGP

You mean, Obadiah, the father? I am blind, so I have to go on voices. I thought that was him… Question: the Doctor Who helps the boy? He sounds a lot like Dick Van Dyke… #HappyForTH 😎🇺🇸🍻

I just saw him in The Sum of all Fears as PUSA. Great character actor James Cromwell He's still alive - born in 1940, so he looked very mature back then, too.

What a keen mind to think of such a story and include a library of multitudes of like minds. This film should be shown in classrooms and school auditoriums.

As George van tassel said in one of his lectures, having the time to think about things other than daily chores has become less and less. So many distractions with just the car and airplane noise alone. Imagine what would happen if you stayed up in the mountains for a month or longer alone. To get by yourself in the city or suburbs takes practice. By yourself means, alone with your thoughts. ✌

I recognized the program title immediately as an episode of The Twilight Zone. This has two connections to Star Trek. First is James Cromwell who played Dr. Zefram Cochrane, and (Robert) Duncan McNeill who played Tom Paris in ST: Voyager.

Wouldn't it be so amazing to be able to see and sense a time either behind our own, or to the future? To be able to see through the eyes of a distant friend of a different time. Would one be tempted to use it for good of others, or for the selfish ill gotten gains?

"One Step Beyond" was a tv anthology of documented supernatural stories. It ran from Jan 1959 to July 1961 (96 episodes) and was very popular. It's having a resurgence on KZbin now. So "One Step Beyond" Equivalent is just a title to attract viewers to similar shows ... Like this 'New Twilight Zone' episode from Nov 1985.
