This TV series was on in 1959 to 1961 - I was 10 years old in 1959 and this and Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone used to scare the daylights out of me. Back then after the sun went down our neighborhood was pitch black except for street lights at the corner streets making the night extremely dark and spooky.

What I consider to be the greatest old-school Sci-Fi in order are: (1) Metropolis, (silent film 1919), (2) Bride of Frankenstein (1935), (3) Forbidden Planet (1958), (4) The Time Machine (1960), (5) The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957). If you haven't seen these you have not seen classic Sci-Fi at its best.

Whilst clowns are ostensibly figures of fun, there can be a sinister reality behind the make-up and the mask. Clowns are often creepy and disturbing as a result of this, something that has been exploited in movies over the past 40 years. I was never too keen on clowns as a child, I must say, even though in reality many of them are harmless.
