Today Jared continues work on the 1970 Plymouth Duster. After the insanely high ending of the last episode discovering the engine is actually a fully built 7.0L stroker, everything's going to go great.. right? Jared works hard to continue to persevere despite everything going wrong along the way.

It's starting to really look like a car! I love that you always show HOW you're doing things, and explain why, rather than going "ooooh look shiny table of parts" and the *poof* they're magically installed in no time! Nothing ever goes quite according to plan, and I always feel like I learn something. Also, thank you for speaking up for mental health. You're killin' it with this project!

Wish I'd known about copper/nickel fuel lines a few years ago when when I re-plumbed my Delta 88. The Vaporguard is doing just fine; most of it is inside the frame rail, so there's little chance of damage, and this is very much not a track car, but I could have done better and had hard lines! But now I know if I ever have to redo it. Loving this little bit of insanity, and you've sold me on the name Tri Hard.

You are so CORRECT, when we built our cars, whenever I got stuck on something, I switched to a simpler task telling myself: "That smaller less important task would have to get done later anyways, let's cross it off the list" That was instrumental in getting the projects to completion. Keep moving on.

Hey Jared, I’m so happy you decided to talk about mental health and toxic masculinity. I’m also turning 40 and my life is nowhere near where I want it to be, or where I feel it should be. I’m so passionate about cars that I’m trying to get into the field, actually got a job as service manager at a classic car restoration shop, but it’s extremely stressful because I was brought in to help fix problems. Anyway, I’m trying so hard, but I need help in basically every aspect of my life right now. I know I’m capable, but I’m suffering at the moment. Anyway, watching your videos and your sweet pups helps. Oh, more puppy content please Keep kicking ass 🫡

Thank you Jared for the content, and the advice. I am fixing my grandfather's car (he's no longer with us), and after replacing all of the suspension, hubs, brakes, today there is a strange sound from the left side. If that's not enough, the sparkplugs are black and wet (either an issue with the distributor, but i'm thinking a carb issue, it has too much fuel), and the brakes do not hold pressure. BUT, i drove it today for the first time since 2008, and i'm counting that as a win. I'll take that small win (drove it for less than a mile).

I like Tri-Hard for the car name and the parts car is perfect. Lots of body and interior parts but you might have to cut a hole in the hood and add some sort of intake scoop or bulge to fit it over that engine. I have no problem if you cut the parts car into scrap, it's pretty much a gone-goose, but I do like the paint trim pattern on the sides and back. (Tri-Hard has cooler taillights though) And I agree the bigger the radiator the better because those engines are going to be pushed into the red zone in competition. Best of luck and loved the episode!

I'm a huge fan of hard lines as well. Copper nickel is the way. Aluminum can work for fuel too. It's honestly cheaper than running AN lines or even most rubber fuel line at this point and it has so many advantages. Only cheaper option is probably nylon lines, but they really are a bit of a pain to work with.

A SINGLE CPU can run all three engines. Inputs for CPU's...o2, TPS, Crank, Cam, oil pres, temp, output Injector pulse, voltage to heat o2, TPS if fly by wire. You may need a fuel pressure regulator depending on the pressure each engine wants, but they will be close. Then make custom wire harness. I bet a single modern Holley unit would work!!!

The rear quarter-panels are remarkably intact on the parts Duster, and the front fenders are also not too rusty to be used whole or in part on Tri-Hard. Finding an early 70s Mopar with body parts that aren't rusted out is gold. Considering how intact the outer panels are and how totally rusted out the floor, trunk, gas tank and frame are, it's pretty obvious to me that this car was sitting outside and neglected for a long, LONG time. So odds are the engine is bad, the transmission is bad or both are bad. Perfect parts car.

Me and my dad had an old 80's f350 dropped off at the house to pull the engine for a swap. thought we were getting a stock 351 Windsor because everything appeared stock. until we pulled the heads and it had flat top pistons with valve reliefs and it took both of us to compress the springs to get the retainers out, crank had plugs from being balanced when we inspected it, its been a trip.

I agree on the hard lines. Having a parker roloflare 37 degree tool would mean that you can just make any hard line an AN flare and use the tube ferrules that you can buy basically anywhere like summit. Cuts way down on the connections you have on the car and makes plumbing way easy.

Yeah, about that yellow Duster... At first, before I was like why he's gonna destroy that. Then you've shown us why. And yeah. Go ahead. You have a front fender that is incomplete of it due to the rust, so MAYBE replace that fender with the yellow front fender if it's in better shape? Also, hope you didn't got into too much troubles with Holley for cutting their stuff up. I mean, you choose their parts 'cuz they're the best for the project, but at the same time it's a project that nobody ever did before, so you needed to adjust them a little bit.

Should do a Volvo electric power steering pump and find an idler for the 3 engines. Will make it easier for the swapping as you can leave power steering intact. Not sure it is possible but if you combine that with a hydraboost brake setup you will not have to worry about vacuum with that built engine.
