Күн бұрын

After the Stay Tuned crew dragged this '64 440 out of an old body shop where it was sitting for 20 plus years, they set out to get this thing running mint and driving down the road! After some nasty rust repair, disc brakes all around, QA1 suspension, new Dorman fuel tank, and some other odds and ends, the guys see if all their hard work pays off and it'll tear down the road after sitting untouched for DECADES!

When Tony ripped that piece off the firewall exposing the rust, I was like "OH DAMN!" its much worse than they thought, but the Stay Tuned crew will get it all proper in no time! The disk brake conversion is totally the way to go. This old Dodge is going to have a second life it never could have dreamed of. Keep up the great work.

I work at a retailer (that you mention) and believe me some of those people could learn something. Plus, you and your team are funny and entertaining. If the 383 is a factory 4 barrel, it is the HP383. My 67 Newport has one. 335hp in the muscle cars, 330hp in the c body yachts. Check the casting number on the heads. If the last three are 516 they are high compression closed chamber heads. BUT unless someone’s modified them they will eventually burn exhaust valves from unleaded gas (no hardened seats). Ask me how I know.

There is a guy here that rolls one of those cool mopars. White, red interior, 70's stance, steelies with dog dishes, and a 440 with attitude. Just a very legit, cool ride. It's nice to see you putting yours back on the street. And for what it's worth, this channel is a lot more fun to watch than Hot Rod Garage ever was. Not that you guys didn't build some cool stuff, but now it's just you and your crew rolling real, without the hollywood vibe. Rock on!

This thing is super cool! Why I like it so much is that I'm a '70s kind of guy (class of '74) and cars like these were affordable and what all us young guys drove for our daily's. I'm digging the black steelies too but I would have run the RWL outside and added chrome lug nuts because back in the day when we couldn't afford "mags". We just pulled the hub caps off the stock wheels and ran new rubber.

Been packing tapered bearings that way since I was a kid. To save yourself the mess of trying to wash your hands after packing all the bearings so you’re able to handle the rotors to assemble it all on the car, wrap the rotor braking surface with SaranWrap before ever touching the grease. You can go thru the whole process without having to clean up till the end when you knock the dust caps on. The cling wrap comes off easily and has saved a boatload of time for me over the years.

Drum brake master cylinders typically have a residual pressure valve built in, so the wheel cylinders don’t bleed back into the master. So if the pads end up dragging, or locking up, that’s probably why.
