Great trigger system. I learned it from my mentor Ron Hood as well, thank you for mentioning him. That shows a lot of class and respect. Thanks for the video.

If you use a slightly fatter trigger stick at one end, drill a hole through, thread the cord you use for you ground anchor and tie it in to the trigger loop you never lose the trigger stick.
@FornaxusCrucible5 жыл бұрын
Very elegant system. It seems it would not be super sensitive, so wouldn't work on really small, light-touch game. But for anything bigger, I LIKE IT!

I noticed you used 2 different diameter pieces of cordage, (probably for demonstration), but it also appears that the same diameter cordage for both pieces could be used when setting this trap. Am I correct?
@DavidCanterbury5 жыл бұрын
Yes it could be the same
@graymadden87075 жыл бұрын
Solid video Dave! When you’re using a spring pole snare is there a rule of thumb for the amount of tension you need? For example the weight of a deadfall is supposed to be 4-5 times the weight of the target animal. Does the spring pole have to be strong enough to lift the animal in your experience?
@DavidCanterbury5 жыл бұрын
If you are trapping a mammal it should be enough tension to lift them off the ground
