As a way to reminisce about the summer, I arranged an orchestral cover of Joe Hisaishi’s classic “One Summer’s Day” from the famous Studio Ghibli movie: Spirited Away.
Even though I watched this movie a few years ago, I could not get the soundtrack out of my head, specifically, One Summer’s Day. Joe Hisaishi is a mastermind with his compositions and I could never stop loving them.
I started this project in June of this year, so I am very happy with how quickly this project moved. I have had my eye on this piece for a very long time, but I never thought I could make an arrangement that could accurately represent the emotions I felt from listening to the original. I still stand by that to this day, but I believe my capability of expressing emotions has improved.
Of course, this could not be possible without all of the talented musicians who agreed to help me out, so I would like to thank each and every one of them for helping me.
