I've come to the conclusion over the past few years that the Danish National Symphony is the movie music orchestra par excellence, almost without peer. Oh and let's never ever overlook the jewel in that crown - the beauty, dramatic verve, and incredible talent that is Tuva!
@Gareethtw10 ай бұрын
Almost? Who would you say are better? They do plenty of non-movie music including even the pieces people view as classical despite the whole technically a lot of movies have music that fits the classical genre as do many computer games, Still they do the usual stuff too Still as a very real strength is the commitment to the piece that when they play something like Bolero they look much the same as other symphonies - without a doubt they play extremely well but so do many symphonies

#agree Thing is, the DNSO (DR Koncerthuset) takes the material seriously; there's none of the snobbery and condescension of some of Europe's better known and more prestigious symphony orchestras - you know the ones I mean - and none of the laziness of more the commercially driven lesser orchestras. The Danish National Symphony takes the works of Howard Shore, John Williams and others seriously, and it shows. Fine works, performed by a fine orchestra. And while I'm on this, I have a lot of time - a lot of time - for Tuva Semmingsen. And not just because she's "the wa-wa lady."

A better drummer gig is fairly hard to imagine. I'd heard of pits for drummers but did not anticipate having to play in one when a foundation who always insisted our non-profit was one of their favourites and they did not typically have music at there galas What was worse was after our ensemble had played or during I suppose they came up with other ways they needed me in the pit and due to the whole we every so often needed a grant for them , so I am in a hole cram packed with every type of percussion ever needed , I am both tall and have broad shoulders so moving was a challenge and well a bit of my head was right where people usually entered, They seemed to think this was fixable by me despite there not really being room for slouching Who knows how many drummers are being put in a hole every day but being one is filled with misadventure as it is needed way too often So of course he looks happy who knows what went on when he was younger I almost never had to play in a pit and yet after the first time a bitt of room to move and good sightlines and well not having people trip over my head all gained value, Things that I had not thought to worry about,

Thank you for this! 💜 I've loved these soundtracks for over 20 years. You can see and hear how much love and appreciation there was towards Tolkien and the music. Return of the King really punched me in the gut,bawled my eyes out. Love from Finland. 💜

If I ever had the opportunity to play in a LOTR orchestra, I think I would actually just die. Holy hell this was awesome

Que orquestra maravilhosa, musica boa para nossos ouvidos, gosto tambem da Hollywood in Viena. Aqui no Brasil temos a OSESP que é uma orquestra do governo do Estado de São Paulo. Parabens a todos.
