I still have never been able to get a straight answer which I guess is an answer in itself… do TMC drivers ever see the actual agreed upon rate in a signed contract, whereupon they know they are getting a percentage of THAT number, or do their dispatches say “here’s what the load pays and here is your percentage trust us we didn’t shave anything off of there”? I get that the vast majority if not all TMC loads will be at contracted rates from mostly dedicated customers and virtually never spot market freight. I get that TMC has underbid a lot of smaller carriers to get those lanes. That doesn’t bug me that’s just good business. But it’s also good business as a driver to actually know what the actual contracted rate is if you’re supposed to get a percentage of said rate

People will say mileage over percentage, situation dictates. If you're dedicated, miles maybe, otr percentage everytime. If the loads aren't giving good miles, percentage by all means.
