that guy was being honest. I work for a company doing flatbed work. I'm based out of Houston and I am regional. some times I never leave texas and other times I do. i leave home on a Monday morning and I am back on Friday evening or Saturday morning I gross low to mid 4k to the truck and I get 27% of the load which means I average 1100 to 1200 before taxes and insurance. non forced dispatch and I can work as much or as little as i want. what i have come to realize is that if you want to have a average gross of a 1000 to maybe 1300 as a company driver then do dry, flatbed, or reefer. if you want to make more then you need to pull a specialized freight like cars, hazmat, heavy haul, or animals. the riches are in the niches. also I believe belly dump, end dump do pretty good.

TMC is tough can be hard for a new driver to get hired on they are all business no games., however highly respected in the industry. Probably the best reputation out there. Best load securement training you can get if you pay attention, I recommendyou do your life and others lives will depend on it. Finish a year safe with clean CSA and any flatbed outfit in the nation will sign you on. Great experience to have. Just keep in mind they have top notch and safe equipment and there is a tradeoff for higher priced chromed out trucks higher truck payments leaves less for driver pay. To me for a new driver that would be an acceptable trade off to be safe. Suck it up, do a minimum of at least 1 year and give them the opportunity to offer you a raise. Oh, one more thing KEEP YOUR FINGERS OUT OF THE D RINGS ON THE TARP AND LET THAT GO IF THE WIND PULLS IT. That tarp is a giant sail and can lift you 60-80feet off the ground and drop you like a brick. People die doing flatbed work all the time pay attention and follow the safety rules.

@David S I don’t know the specifics, but every TMC driver I know of is doing better than 700 take home, I’ll say that much. And 26-34% of load is 26-34% of load. Of course we also had paper logs and times have definitely changed, I can't understand why any driver would accept less than what we made 10 years ago that is a reverse directuon in growth. Average pay level for first year solo drivers is 29 - 32% pay. 33% is very acheivable. 34% is unheard of unless you are PERFECT on every score chart as well as a tenured driver with many years with TMC. Every year of service is an additional point on yourscore chart. Typical average pay for first year solo driver is $1250 - $1350 GROSS a week. You have options after some time in to get on a local, semi dedicated, dedicated, heavy haul, boats, or specialized(john deere) account. You can become a trainer as well and earn an extra $75/wk plus an additional 10 - 20% in revenue to the truck which means more money to you. Also, keep in mind the benefits provided, as well as the ESOP program and what you can earn in free company stocks as an additional savings/retirement account. Folks need to look at the WHOLE PICTURE, the WHOLE PACKAGE of what is provided and offered before being judgemental of TMC pay and when comparing ALL COMPANIES.

Bro, I wouldn't get out of bed for 900-1000 dollars, that's slave wages. Those guys tarp 90% of those loads, drive at mach turtle speed and barely get 34 hrs home... that's indentured servitude. 900 bucks is ok for a rookie but any driver with experience should be embarrassed to admit that on camera. A slow shiny truck doesn't make up for poverty.
@masterofalldark2 жыл бұрын
Your not gonna make more than that weekly without experience and that seems to be the case with most of the research I’ve conducted. Only people I’ve seen making more than 1k a week have experience or have a certification in something else. You should really educate yourself on the things that this company does have to offer. Many, many people will tell you the company is a great start and you benefit greatly.

Some straight truck companies pay better than that where I'm from. You net anywhere from 1000-1400 per week, Monday through Friday (Costco and Lowe's receiving is a breeze), rarely run my 14 hour day, 1500-2000 miles a week, usually always home. If I'm away from home it's usually only 2 nights away and home Friday morning and rarely run Saturdays. I do local and a up to a couple thousand miles a week. But our healthcare coverage is ass :/ going to get it from my old lady's job soon tho.

Bro they let me go for rubbing on the curb twice they're strict asf. And I was home by 1am on Saturday morning and had to leave on Sunday you barely enjoy the day it's a lie. They sent 2 student home for stepping on the grass on training campus because the owner spends 1 million a year not even baseball or football quality grass. I give them this they're secure load is good but nots it's best. You have to basically retrain they're way and there stages if you dont pass you get sent home. And no they do not give chances one driver got a ticket for speeding and got let go

ATTENTION THIS IS NOT WHAT I HEARD THESE ARE TRUE EVENTS FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH TMC💯......TMC in my experience wasn't worth it...yes they have nice trucks and percentage pay but the atmosphere is VERY strict and every person on the staff I met except for one had a VERY bad attitude...In orientation they were giving all kind of math tests and NOT easy math along with other tests that were counted along with your classroom grade and they had 1hour long crash course on paper logs and they didn't explain it right and expected you to know everything about it the next day for a test that would count as most of your classroom grade everyone in the class did BAD on that test and the trainers don't show you respect they said a RACIST comment to my roommate on the backing pad...you need a 70%or above average to pass because I did bad on those HARD math tests I had a 72% average which was above what they required and they still sent me home but I passed everything else...they don't fly you out there or get you a bus ticket....they make you drive out there in a rental car...my roomate and I who I went to driving school with drove from Louisiana to Iowa,and when we got there they didn't have our hotel room ready and we had to wait in the car a half of a day from 6am to 12 noon...and the recruiter lied about half the stuff he talked about... TMC is not a good company...they may have good trucks and decent pay...but they won't respect you or appreciate you...they care MORE about their trucks than YOU or your life...they will treat you like dirt and USE you up and FYI....if you have Dreadlocks, Mohawk's or any kind of long hair THEY make you SHAVE YOUR HEAD!!!!
