Hellllllllll-O Nah! Way too exaggerated looks that don't add up to 'cool' for me.. TBH. The Cartoon? Seen bits and clips.. and? That? Is what helped turn me off of these. (If? They Made em more 'Realistic ,ish' and .Used those cards(Retro Cards...for example..w the cartoons art) kinda like what the Black Series does occasionally. Like? A POTF2 carded 6" Leia .. (which? I bought based on the card!(And..not having her😊) So. Yeah. Just this Guy's opinion. 😊 And..At the time? Don't think I was watching Cartoons .. as I was still in my 'Im to cool ' for that phase. And..Music? Girls. Freinds'. The 'scene' ? Had my attention way over crazy looking Figures id no interest in. Now? As I'm middle aged and all that ? 'too cool' 💩? Has long passed. 😊 Now? I'm reading Comics. Watching animated stuff. And? Ip's that produce the figures I like 😊 (just got my first Action Force Figure ! Loving him! And..He won't be the last!) any plans for a Cartoon or comics to go with these A/F guys ?🙏😊

I could tell you what uncle Todd would say... "Yea uhhh, we started out with Spawn, then we started doing DC Multiverse, and we did Batman, then we did another Batman, and right now we're planning on doing a brand new Batman that I'm sure everybody's gonna love... no girl characters because toys are for boys and boys don't like girl characters..."

Those days were so frustrating because all I wanted was a screen-accurate Batman, but if you weren't lucky enough to find that one screen-accurate figure in the first wave, then you were S.O.L. with every subsequent wave in the entire line and you had to settle for a Batman with a purple or orange suit and bizarre accessories. I suppose I was lucky to get Turbo Jet Batman because at least he had a dark gray suit, but I really wanted that Combat Belt Batman.

absolutely loved the animated series line, remember seeing it in a toy collector magazine for what was coming out in the coming year at the time , and I couldn't wait to get the animated series molded figures. was at the Toys R Us when they hit and bought the whole first wave, sold them all in 2006 still on card but have since been reacquiring them mint on card again. thank you Bobby for this video, so dam educating when I watch your content.

I was so into Batman and ate up almost anything Batman. I loved Batman TAS and it's toyline. I regret back when I was 22 I told my mom to get rid of my Batman collections.

One of my favorite animated series I watched when I was a kid. Never got into the toys. Missed out on them. Now I get them for my kid. He really enjoys them, these toys were ahead of their time.

12:48 I still have that blue and gray Detective Batman, and it is still one of my all time favorite Batman figures. Awesome to see and hear the guy responsible for making that figure.13:25 and I still have that Manbat, and it STILL stands out as probably the best Manbat figure ever made.

The only Batman I wanted as a kid was the proper version. I couldn't care less about the bright silly gimmick versions they pumped toy isles full of. The action gimmick weapons were tossed in a box and never seen again. It was so frustrating struggling to get a proper Batman figure then as the toy line gradually fazed out villains all together so it was nothing but silly colored versions of Batman and Robin every wave it became very disappointing for me as a kid. Then the Superman animated line only got five villains. Where as toybiz with Marvel were making proper figures of every Marvel character you could imagine. So I abandoned DC as there were no new characters for me to buy. (well, for my parents to buy me).

Man, this was awesome, Bobby. There are legends of toy creation out there that we have no idea about and that are on the youtubes. It’s nice to have a light shone on them to help us find those channels.
@esa59529 сағат бұрын
Bobby, your channel should be required viewing for every fan boy toy collector, especially those who consistently make comments like “ well why didn’t Hasbro just…” Another excellent video A suggestion for a future topic: the production process from idea to implementation and how it differs from companies like your own and Todd’s with Hasbro, Mattel etc

I had that mail-away Predator! I think it came in a plain bag in a plain white box... Or maybe that was some SW force ghost. Now B:TAS was a great line. The figures, especially Wombat Beltman, actually looked like the cartoon characters. I ripped the accessories off and never used them but the base was **chefs kiss** They still hold up pretty well for 5" figures, articulation notwithstanding. I like CBBM more than the 6" one I got a decade or so ago.

I'm glad you get to show the figure you guys are talking about and some definitions of terms to some words. As much as I really wanted to listen in your previous interview, it was just hard to keep up when at one point I just simply do not know what the topic is all about.

@Stygian36010 сағат бұрын
I'm probably wrong but Batman the Animated Series and the cartoon shows that were on around then seems like the last time the kids had shows they were on at a specific time that you needed to be there or you'd miss seeing it. And then obviously there was the inevitable toy line to go with it. The BTAS figures were cool but I was all about the DC Collectibles versions. Yes even with their dinky feet and included stands. Much harder to associate a line to a show now (at least as closely) because everything is on demand. In fact if anything has helped kill toys for kids (other than the prevalence of video games and an ever-changing culture) it's streaming.
@andrewtaylor9405 сағат бұрын
The last ones that I can think of, that also drove toy sales is probably Ninjago, and Star Wars Clone Wars, which were airing side by side.
@FFFFPPPP8 сағат бұрын
Mcfarlane has been including BAF pieces with the DC Direct BTAS reissues that are of never before released characters. The 2nd one was of Lock-Up that he mentioned. They also did The Condiment King, Maxie Zeus, and next will be Bruce Wayne. Harley was created for the BTAS show and was not in the comics until later.

I always stopped to check the 90's Batman figures out, they always had something cool that jumped out at me. Great interview with Aaron, such interesting insight into the line and the methods of getting the figures produced. And, we need a Red and Black Steel Brigade figure from Action Force to mirror that Knightfall Red and Black batsuit. Just say'n!
