I don't know many kids who play with toys anymore. I would argue that the kids 2 adult ratio buying these toys is very close.

Got it still but like every toy loved and played with lost all the plastic bits and the box has gone, it a great Toy 👍🇬🇧

I was lucky enough to have had both this one and the Kenner tower one when I was a kid. Loved them both and could never figure out where Mom would get them from. Never knew anyone else who had them. Many hours of fun were had.

the difference I have with the GIJOE first stand alone figure.. the plastic visible is supposed to be a star, you're going to end up with the space around the star, so what do you fill the blankspace with? The other packaging bits I tend to agree with, that one just kinda stood out that you're going to end with blank space?

art is like this, i'm afraid. not every piece is going to be a home run, plus the whole "art is subjective" thing. as you know, making toys isn't the easiest of tasks. with so many cooks in the kitchen these larger companies have, it's a wonder they produce anything noteworthy.

It was awesome. I got the Sears Canada death star playset for Christmas. Which is pretty much the same.

After 45 years I've finally realised the eyelike round shape printed at the top of the ladder is meant to be a Star Trek style Jeffries tube accesses tunnel.😳 They should've used darker colours & shading, with the black "end" higher.

I briefly borrowed a friends once when he went on holiday for a week. Like the Droid Factory & sandcrawler playsets etc they'd vanished by the time I knew about them.

Now i want one!

It's a beautiful, well designed toy. Would I get it if I had the chance? Maybe. I had to pass on one because I just didn't have the money. Still don't. But to those who have managed to acquire this fantastic part of toy history, you are in possession of a legend!

I can imagine a lot of those sets eventually ended up covered in tape as pieces broke and tabs ripped off.

This hulk looks awesome, just wish the two head was a bit smaller and wish we got a grinding teeth for the modern face instead of that neutral plane looks, and better ball joints articulation on the head.

Bobby, just a little friendly toy/comic book help… Tyr is pronounced like “tear”. Also, you never heard of Golden Pharaoh and Cyclotron is because they were created specifically for the line. Samurai only ever appeared in the Super Friends cartoon before the line. And finally, the second series figures are mostly from Jack Kirby’s New Gods comics, but, all of them, aside from Darkseid himself and DeSaad, got complete redesigns from the comics to make them (of course) more “toyetic”.

That's definitely one of the coolest action figure playsets I've seen

Even though it’s mostly cardboard, it’s way better than the plastic Kenner version for the U.S. market.
