Time to sort through over one-thousand and two-hundred (1,200) old diecast cars and trucks from my collection, as cars from my "Saved From The Sandbox" junk lot are added into the existing cases of cars and trucks. There are countless mint and junkyard condition vehicles in this lot, with brands of toy cars that are 35 to 60 years old from all over the world, including Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Lesney, Corgi, Yatming, Playart, Zymlex, Zee, Tyco, Lock-Ups, Welly, and Impy. Enjoy this rare look at some of my rarest collectibles that rarely are seen before they all get put back into deep cold storage! It is one very nostalgic journey through diecast toy car history here in the Diecast Museum.

Husky Toys were a Corgi brand sold exclusively through Woolworths in the UK. When the licensing deal expired in 1969 they were re branded as Corgi Juniors. Originally they came with cast wheels with plastic tyres but soon were fitted with fast running Whizzwheels. Corgi Rockets were a development of them with separate chassis.

I have seen several "transitional" pieces in my collection, where the a casting has a Husky base while an exact same other casting has a Corgi Whizwheels base. Thanks for the information, I am glad you shared it here as I had missed that in my video

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought Husky and Corgi were separate companies and Corgi bought out Husky. I didn't know it was actually Corgi with Husky being their own subseries. Also Corgi Rockets are rare because they made them to compete with Hot Wheels and once Mattel found out, they axed it.
@beatnikbanditdiecast4932
@beatnikbanditdiecast4932 9 ай бұрын
@@MrWolfSnack As I understand it, Mattel had taken out a patent on the plastic track and both Matchbox and Corgi had infringed it with their tracks, which is why they both disappeared around 1971. Also I should imagine Rockets were very expensive to produce.

Husky are from the mid to late 60s and were a brand owned by Corgi to complete with Matchbox’s 1-75 series. It later became known as Corgi Jr. and also Corgi Wizzwheels.

Many people don't know ERTL actually tooled and made their own cars for a brief time. They were mainly known for their tractor models and some sporadic TV license deals.

Very nice collection of old school metal. I had that Yatming Black Mustang with the fender flares and butterscotch windows as a kid. I never knew it was a Yatming because to me it looked like a Matchbox car. I usually didn't get any Hot Wheels or Matchbox accept on special occasions because we were poor but, when I did I would be so happy. I also had that black Hot Wheels '57 Bel Air. My brother got me that and two other Hot Wheels for Christmas one year. That same year my Dad got me the Hot Wheels city that had the little man that you could make him cross the street. The adults in the family thought that that was hilarious. Good memories. I am also a fan of the old Kenner Fast 111's cars. Those things would really move!

11:00 I do the same thing. I just buy lots of cars from goodwill and eBay and whatever is in the box is what I get. Cars I don't have go into my collection, those that are dupes go into a separate storage location. If I get the exact matching car again but it is in better condition, the worse condition one gets replaced. That will continue for whatever cars I happen upon through time. I will never ever forget when I got that super chromes porsche in a bulk lot of old hot wheels. some kid painted over it but you could still see the green and yellow tampos showing that indicated it was a $900 (in mint shape of course) car. I was totally floored. i have a lot of fun buying 10lb+ mystery lots of cars. And yes kid painted cars still count in the collection if I do not have the car until I get a replacement of that specific car.

23:04 Zee Toys and Zylmex are the same brand. They used both names interchangeably, I think it was a trade law type thing they were using a loophole for. In the mid 90s Zylmex would eventually be dissolved and absorbed into "Motor Max" brand where some Zylmex castings lingered for a bit before Motor Max formed its own identity.

The silver Corgi WhizzWheels Jaguar XJ6. I got that same in yellow. Only it is branded as a Husky models diecast stamped on the base with thin plastic wheels and metal rims. The tow hook in mine is broken off. As I understand the Corgi and Husky brand was owned by the same company Mettoy Playcraft Ltd

O DAWG ..You are a Crazy Man ! The Diecast savior. The Z i belive is also Zylmex as i think in one of your vids saw a carded car that had both logos on the package ...i think . I love finding these cool off brands too . They have made my collection far more diverse an more unique..no one should just do one brand to much out there especially companies that no longer exist .... Have also found same shape pretty red Z made Corvette ..an halftrack They definitely have a cool quality worth collecting. Went to the FM yesterday an today .bunch a cools havent even pulled out the bag yet ...i found the chrome oscar meyer wienersmobile LOL ...on card ...2 bucks . An a massive pile in the bag yet of loose cars ..few HW an MB Ferrari s ..my main fun thing to search and find . As back then i wasent a car collector an ive missed out on the entire old hot wheels Ferrari Era .

It's cool to know that those Zymlex cars are in your collection as well.

Yes the Z would be Zylmex. A lot of collectors are picking up on this company recently. For decades it was shunned as junk. A diecast collector's site actually interviewed some employees of Intex Pool Corp. (who Zee Toys was owed by) its somewhere out there on the internet.

38:15 I’m pretty sure “Sneaky Pete” was a custom truck designed and build by someone in California, hence its name. I know Revell made a kit for it in the late 70s so it can’t be a fake car?

The Yatming Sneaky Pete was a knockoff of the Revell model kit Sneaky Pete. Whether the model kit was a custom design from an artist or a real truck, that is still not known.
