One Tigris Rock Fortress Hot Tent Unboxing and Set Up

Looking for a good, inexpensive, Hot tent set up enough for multiple people and a stove, this One Tigris Rock Fortress seems to fit that need. I can't speak for the company as I have heard some things about them, but the gear seems to hold up to the elements like the rest of the other good brands since I have had them.
Stay tuned this month I will post content from last winter hunts we have used this on and it made an enjoyable time.

It's actually amazing how many people don't read how to set this tent up correctly. That's why his door didn't shut properly. The instructions say to peg only one door, then insert the poll with the adjustment 3 holes from the top, then peg out the door across from the one you peg'd, after that, work your way around, you'll get it perfect every time and doors that open and close correctly.

I just bought some pipe wrap for my hot tent stove. The wrap comes with 2 clamps to keep the wrap in place. I have the winnerwell nomad xl stove..

It’s my favorite hot tent I own still. Just gotta learn hot tenting before going out in blizzards it can be dangerous

@@paparomesoutdoors711 I would like to take it out in a snow storm, but the heavy storms are increasingly infrequent where I live (New Jersey, US) I assume you mean dangerous because of carbon monoxide, yes? I will be using a CO detector..

@@sundaymorninghikes6275 we’ll that’s part of it but can be avoided by leaving a gap around and a flap open, the storms create more issues with sag and droop of material when too much it can touch the stove pipe causing fire or at that point wind can collapse the entire tent. Trial and error and doing research. Good luck

Do you you prefer the hammock hot tent or the fortress? Also what are the chance’s of the pole falling over and having the tent land on the stove?

Great questions here, I have my used my hammock hot tent yet to be honest, as far as the pole falling, anything is possible but usually if you guy out the tent properly I have not had any issues with poles moving. One common thing is when the stoves run they melt the ground in ice around the pole causing it to sink in so I always try to find a flat stone to set the bottom on during the ice time to prevent this. It has to be secure for any hot tent. Another thing this tent I believe was like my smaller one that can be hung by a branch as well to avoid the pole but idk how secure in high wind that would be with a stove. Hope that answered anything here

Thanks for the awesome review!! Do you think I could fit 4 in there with a stove? We are used to sleeping shoulder-to-shoulder on narrower backpacking sleeping pads and I want to see if I can cut weight by getting this tent instead of a larger one. We'd also have our gear outside covered by the sled we'll pull in. Thank you!

thanks for watching, I would say it would be very tight, but removing cotts may work, me personally 4 and a stove with wood is too many for a safe time, id think bags would get close or touch the stove. I like to lean to a safer stand point and go larger for more space when needed.

Great review, but that stove pipe is way to big, really the stove is to big for that tent.. you only need the small stoves for these tents most mini packdown stoves have proven perfect, i would use a stove like yours in a bigger canvas tent

Thank you for watching, inhave the small titanium also but having to stoke it every hour makes for a restless night when I can half load this for 3-4

@@paparomesoutdoors711 Thats totally fair, I've definitely met people with wildly different preferences to how they like to sleep in hot tents, one guy i met puts his fire out before he goes to sleep lol
