I remember this by Coven in the 1970s. It was also used as the theme of the movie Billy Jack.

This song was sung by another band called Coven for a movie in 1972 called Billy Jack. He was played by Tom Laughlin and had 2 more sequel movies. Sadly he passed away several years ago and he was a good actor.

It was popular back in the 70s. It was one of the songs we sung at summer camp. 😆

Some reactors didn't get the message of this, but you summed it up very well.

It might help in understanding the song to know that the Original Caste was formed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1966.

I still have the original 45. I loved that song. I had a speech impediment. I ended up singing draw your horses mount your swords at an assembly. (If you haven't noticed I'm an idiot)

Billy Jack is a film from the early, early 70's that you MUST watch. This became it's Theme Song.

The point was that was the trumpets kingdom so it goes , making law to get by with all sorts of shits. But they were caught and so yes there's some expensive stuff there. Back story isn't too much before you. Just happened to piss off many being called out

The movie the end each &. Everyone has their fist in the air as the song played to the end of the movie & they cried everyone in it as Tom Laughtland wentin the cop car

It's not sarcasm reflected in the lyrics of the song- it's more of a warning that if they do kill and cheat, nothing good will come of it for them that commit those acts.

This version is the cover version bu Coven. How can i tell? It was the animated version which was shown on The Sonny And Cheir Show. The original version was sung by The Original Chast, but only the Coven version was a top 40 hit, rideing on the movie Billy Jack.

Although the song predates Billy Jack, most will associate it with the movie.

This is not my original idea, but I don't remember who said it first. We keep singing the same protest songs for the same atrocities. They're timeless because humanity sucks as a collective.
