One of those very popular rustic wooden benches would look great on the empty wall at the doors. They’re narrow only a board wide, and as high as you want, for sitting, or for throwing your towels. You could build one, or pay high dollars for one. The great thing is, although the benches are rustic, they look great with modern decor

3/8' particle board as underlayment? What are you thinking buddy. Even with Ditra, you need a solid foundation of plywood or OSB down (3/4 or 5/8). Don' go through the trouble of tiling if you're not putting a foundation down that's right. Your tiles will crack or grout lines will pop over time without it. Poor future buyers lol.

I miss your projects before you got so big. Now I love watching how you transform a bathroom like with the plumbing and I’ve always appreciated your vanities, dressers, etc. with character and creativity like in the past, plus you included more footage then. I loved your niche under the stairs, etc. more than anything your smaller builds because you put in so much detail and character. This bathroom is white on white on white, the vanity is fine but no character, and I don’t like mdf panels behind a toilet and by a shower, ik bc my contractor put in the cheapest mdf crap to pose as “shiplap” and its rotten and ill have to rip out myself. I don’t know I’m just saying I miss your channel as it was. Obviously you have to pump out content, you’re working very hard so I get it but I don’t know not a fan of this bathroom’s finishes and I was so excited to see what kind of retro vanity you’d come up with to fit the age and style of the house
@tacomapappas10 ай бұрын
Another video where I’m confused at what you choose to do first lol… what’s the reason behind not tackling the shower first? Whether you’re doing a walk in or tub shower, water is going to get in between where the tile meets the shower, no? Since you didn’t continue the waterproofing? This is like the kitchen video installing everything and not even getting to patch or paint the walls yet 😂 P.S.. Watch all your videos and love your content. Just looking to understand the thinking besides rushing to get a video out for Lowe’s.

We'll see what he does when he gets to the shower, but since it will be enclosed with a door, you only need the extra barrier on the walls within the shower. You wouldn't normally paint those walls if you were going to add a barrier anyway, but he seems to do a lot of things out of order for the sake of video releases.

Its actually common in denmark to use 2 sheets of drywall. It stiffens the wall, and gives better firerating and accustics. Pretty much all drywall work done by profs here is done that way. I watch a lot of amercian rebuilds, and your standard in generel are pretty low compared to our standards. I know we have different requirements compared to us envorionment, but still. As and example, we would use steel-corners in the mudding on drywall, to prevent future damage. We do think alot about how long our builds last, as a total economy perspective and not just cheap and easy. Just wanted to share.

I'm a long time fan of the channel and usually love what you do. That being said taking away the linen closet to add to the bathroom would've been a great idea if you actually added more usable space, however I don't think you did. The pocket door doesn't add value in my opinion and really just creates less privacy in the primary bedroom because well pocket doors are not great at being a barrier. Instead of the $450 to create the wall detailing, you could've built in a small linen closet or shelf between the toilet and the shower. Overall looks good, but could've been amazing with a few tweaks her and there.
@maverick_trail10 ай бұрын
Seeing the near-finished product, I'll agree that the pocket door was unnecessary. It saves maybe 4 steps from the bedroom to the hall entrance of the bathroom and it limits the plumbing/electrical options on the wall behind the vanity.
