First you anchored to the rocks of two cliffs, then a single tree, eventually a field. You've got a nice hammock series going on here, Mark!

Thank you👍. Trying to stand out from the crowd a bit, hopefully it will pay off eventually. I like to experiment with things as well, keeps me entertained😁👍

Totally love your videos and I can’t wait to see if you can make a free standing hammock set up in a field, genuinely interested

That is great to know, thankyou. Will perfect the one tree hammocking in the woods then give the full set up a go. Have a field camp booked up for early August so that`s the plan, of course I will be with a group and there is a pub involved but should be able to get some decent footage.😁👍

Not sure what you are saying. At 17 stone+ think it got a good test and have used this set up several times now, works great when you can not find those perfectly spaced trees without widow makers hanging over you.

Make your stakes longer, lower the hammock to belly button height and you will be good to go also stretch you hammock tension a tad to so it counter acts the rope stretch. You can get away with doing it with broom handle width either end as a no tree hammock set up as long as your hammock straps and guy ropes are at the same point

That`s some good information there Roger, thanks for chipping in and giving me a few pointers👍

Hi Mark. I have tried something like this myself but using two poles set in an x shape and using a ratchet strap anchored to a fallen tree branch. I will have to give your one pole method a go next time. Thank you for showing us and i look forward to your progress with it in the future. Also love the wood gasifier stove video you have done 👍

Thanks David, it all works around tripods, two sticks and an anchor rope or one stick and two anchor ropes. Just like the idea of a hiking stick that doubles up as a hammock stand when required. Have the dynema chord, just need to do some splicing and make the follow up video.
