I think he meant to say that he believed to be the one whom love her the most unfortunately it ain’t his decision to make but hers.. I mean, he can not know that for sure.. the « I love you the most » cause how do you even measure love ?.. anyway I saw it as a « if the one who love the most « win » then we would be together but she should choose the one SHE loves the most.. » and even if she had to choose the one she loved the most between the two of them.. it wouldn’t mean that the one she choose doesn’t love her more than she loves him..

I watched this movie not knowing who to root for...I really liked Emma with both men, but especially with Jesse before he went missing. She seemed to be living such a happy and adventurous life with him. In the present, she is boring, but I understand it because of all she has been through.

One day her biological clock would start to ring and she would want to settle down, Jesse doesnt seem the settling down. Why didnt he take her to Alaska or delay his adventure so he could celebrate his one year wedding anniversary with his wife as she sugested. And husband plan B just wasted 20 years of pining for someone that with the right circumstances would never had chosen him (like if Jesse wasnt such a adventurous guy all the time)
