Jenna Rainey I bet I’m not the only person who wanted to take a sip of that green crepe soda and the strawberry fizz 🥤 🍓 lol maybe I’m weird but I love the yummy colours of your water jars. ... I bet John almost too a sip. And I’ve been consciously using the tip about warm colour in one water cup and cool colours in the other. I’ve literally stored the jars with lids and haven’t needed to replace it all week because it’s not murky brown yet.

I have watched your videos over and over and each time I learn something new. Maybe by the nth time, it finally sticks. Always mesmerized by your style. Reading your book and following it closely. I’m new to watercolor, and now I’m addicted. Love your style.

I feel like my biggest rose problem was losing the shape of it half way through, and then needing to do loads of layers. When I try to connect some petals I do it badly. But you hit it on the head with the highly arched C curve!

The puffy cloud is my rose! 😂
@ritaflannery85615 жыл бұрын
This does help. Thank you. I wasn't connecting the petals. My biggest challenge is probably timing. My petals seem to dry faster than I can complete the rose. Maybe not enough water to begin with and maybe trying to be too perfect. But it's funny - I like watercolor for its imperfections!
@BrittOnyR5 жыл бұрын
Definitely guilty of that puffy cloud rose, lol. Now I'll have to start practicing to make sure my petals touch and less arch.

I have loads of different size rounds #2 all the way to #20 by Princeton but it's the Neptune 4750 series. I have one round from the Heritage 4050 series in size 6 which I have used to death and is now the brush I use for mixing and swatch charts. I also have a couple of the Elite 4850 series in round 8 & 12. Have you had experience with these other 2 Princeton watercolor brush lines. I'm just wondering if one or the other behave as the 4050. It's hard for me to tell with with my one worn out size 6. I did love that brush. I love all my Princeton brushes. Thanks for the wonderful information you provide.

I'm so glad you liked the tutorial, and yes, I try my hardest but unfortunately my beautiful plants to get neglected sometimes with so much going on in this house... 😰But you are right, and actually, haha, before I read this comment, I took that plant down to water it and give it some sun (so, it IS being taken care of, haha!). Thanks love!

Jenna Rainey I love your work . The only thing I am not able to understand is how to keep the roses wet .
@JennaRaineyChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hey Nerida! It can be tricky keeping the right amount of water to work with this medium. I do have a video all on water control that may help. But sometimes it’s about having the right amount of water and painting quickly. With practice and muscle memory, you get more comfortable with the pieces you’re painting, and the more comfortable you are the quicker you can go. When I paint, I try to do it quickly if I am trying to get the most out of wet on wet painting.

Hi. I wanted to ask something. I just do art sometimes as a hobby, and there's this cycle. I always try to make something, I'm not satisfied with it, and instead of relaxing, i get stressed, give up, and move on. Repeat when I feel like painting some time later. So what to do now?
@nanschifris87345 жыл бұрын
Hi Jenna! I just started following you last week & I really enjoy your teaching style. I’m subscribed to your channel and I’m only seeing about 25 videos, yet you have over 7k subscribers. I think I might be missing something?! Do you have videos posted somewhere else? I’d love to learn more from you. 😎

Hey Nan! I have an Instagram account @jennarainey with about 180k followers and I have two published books ("Everyday Watercolor" series -- you can find links in the video description)... I was a little late to the KZbin game, just getting it started, but I had a built in crew of people who follow along and have been learning from Insta and books for a little while now! But those are a couple other areas you can learn from me! Thanks so much for reaching out and watching!! Take care!
