Yay! I love this video! I went a little crazy after watching your leaf tutorials the other day-now leaves are EVERYWHERE. Soon floral wreaths will be everywhere, too. One favorite flower is too tricky, but *some* favorites are peonies, geraniums, stephanotis/jasmine, English lavender, and gardenias. And hollyhocks. And echinacea coneflowers. Okay I'll stop.

To draw a sketch for water color, I use the Derwent Watercolour pencil in French Grey. It blends in beautifully and you don't have to worry about pencil lines showing. Probably any light watercolor pencil in a neutral color would work as well.

Jefi- have you tried slowing way down on your strokes? Watching Jenna paint so slowly made me realize I was influenced by all the warp speed tutorials I've been watching. My work has improved a lot since slowing down.

@Jedi playback speed can be slowed quite drastically by tapping the 3 dots in the upper corner and then picking playback speed. That helps with some of the speedy ones.

Again, being a very visual hands on person... this video REALLY helped me grasp the concepts of color theory you shared in your book. I’m taking notes, and everything is just clicking! I’m also realizing, a lot of this just didn’t get the ol brain cogs going because I don’t have the same variety of water colors available to me. I kept trying to make what I had on hand work, which i now understand, it just don’t work that way with color theory. I basically have primary colors in the cotman series with some randoms since I simply liked the colors. Going to slowly build my color library because I’m itching to just paaaint with the flowy wondermentness. My favorite flower to paint are peonies because they can just be rendered and expressed in so many ways. Throw in sunflowers too cause they’re just so happy. Would love some more videos on composition and how to get a piece to flow. You really touched on it in this video, but touch on it maybe differently in terms of a bouquet or floral frame. Thank you for these videos!
