Are you in a good decluttering rhythm? Or do you need a nudge to get back on the wagon? I had forgotten just how much I decluttered in February...by just starting with one item a day! And I don't miss any of it! Enjoy the recap of Week 2! 😀

So, I'm sitting here, enjoying your video and I start to think. It's Zone 1. My Zone 1 is my entryway/hallway. I have a cupboard that I could just get up and declutter. So, up I get and spend about five minutes and come away with a handful of things to contribute to the garbage. Yay! Two chores are done! (Zone 1 and decluttering!) Thank you, Diane! 🙂

You inspired me to declutter in Feb and I’m still doing it in April. What a great feeling and the house is looking better and better. I’m only keeping things I use and love. Love a simple life. Thanks Diane!

💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡 Using a new approach to decluttering clothes: instead of weeding out what I am not wearing, I am picking favorites and getting rid of everything else regardless of how much I wore it. This method is pulling me out of the past and steering me to a better future. It is more proactive planning and less reactive to past behavior. 💡 My big lightbulb moment was when I discovered stretch denim. I tried a pair stretch denim shorts and decided to have only two washes of shorts and three washes of long jeans and one white ankle jeans as my basic jeans in my wardrobe. I am hanging on to an old pair of peach and an older pair of gold jeans for the color, but those will be on probation. They are not nearly as comfortable and I may not reach for them because I can do better now. I am keeping one pair of wide leg jeans as a trend and one pair of ivory Gloria Jeans bootleg jeans that I have had since 1985 for my vintage moods. That's it! All other denim is going. I am letting go of at least two dozen pairs. If I lose too much weight again, I will replace with the new stretch denim. BYE-BYE UNCOMFORTABLE DENIM!!!!!!! 💡❤💡❤💡❤💡❤💡❤💡❤💡❤💡❤👍😅

Cookbooks! Again you have touched my heart! I had quite a collection until a sister came to gleam through them as she decided in mid-life to go to cooking school. I still had way too many that I kept for a few more years. I had decided to give at least half to another home-anywhere. My friend and neighbor told me she’d like a couple and chose the ones with the most complicated recipes. SHE DOESN’T COOK! When asked she said she simply reads them like precious novels. Well, Diane, you know I kept them all with the goal of reading them. I moved and felt guilty lugging them all after 3 years I haven’t read a one. They wave at me everything a walk past them. You’ve inspired me to realize I already make what recipes I’m ever going to and it’s time to pass them on. It took 3 libraries to take them all. I can always borrow them for a time if I need them for inspiration! Thank you so much!

Thanks for re-uploading these. February was not a good time for me to be decluttering but April is! I've watched these the first time round but much more fun now when I can play along. Going through spring clothes today as I switch out seasons. I'm raising the bar and letting go of some things that have seen better days.

Thanks for reposting this video. When I first saw it, all I could do was stare at my two overflowing 3 foot shelves of cookbooks. Today I realized that I had not cooked a single recipe from most of them or didn't like what I tried. I made those into rules for clearing off about one shelf of cookbooks for a final review. I often use the web and KZbin for recipes anyway. Or create my own. I will count and weigh what will go out just to get an idea. Now I have more space.

Hi, Diane, thank you for this lovely patchwork of a week. Yes, I did it and one of my sisters felt inspired and we prolonged the challenge during the whole month of march. Then I got lost in Denmark for 3 weeks without even internet (hubby managed to find the probably only Danish house without it… it was lovely and cheap… so we were on a internet detox), but I feel inspired to go through my cook books in May and maybe she'll join me again. It was so fun to send pictures to each other about our efforts. Addiction is the right word for it, I LOVE cook books and I again found 2 on loppemarked in Denmark… Love, Monika❣

Ha ha, no, I tried them and they didn't work for me - my clothes are very fitted and I'm quite petite, so maybe that's why? Never have problems with my clothes falling off the hangers.

I am still trying to get rid of one thing per day. Most days they are small things but occasionally, I let go of something that has been around for years and that feels kind of transformational..maybe that sounds crazy but considering that I live in a small house and most things are in plain sight, it does tend to have an impact when it is a larger item that I have had for years.

Hi Diane, I agree with you! Trying to Declutter one thing a day Keeps me looking at everything and wondering if I should keep it. I saw the video where you bought those tubes squeezers. You are so right. I bought them and they are wonderful. Before these, I had the kind that you had to twist. I never really realized how many tubes I have when it comes to toothpaste and have lotion and different creams and lotions. Thank you for sharing this small and wonderful gadget.

I seem to have caught a second wind in April. So far, 22 items and it’s only early afternoon. All small items but trusting that over time I will feel the progress. The visible and bulky items were decluttered in the first big push.

I find that after going through that first big declutter it gets so much easier! I'm still doing it. Last night I put a few items from my Easter decorations in the donation bin, if it didn't go up or I don't absolutely love it, out it goes. I go through my cabinets every six months or so and always find things that I couldn't quite get rid of before, but can do it this time. Even a few things feels like a victory!

Thanks for the video. In the first part you talk about laundry. We are also empty nesters but my laundry piles up😢 I have to work until five , five thirty in the afternoon most of the days and i seem to have now time to do it when i get home. 5 minutes would work great but i have laundry to fold and ironing for hours and hours so it stays there in the laundry basket. In the weekend and in free days i really don't wont to ironing for hours. I should have a system so i can do it in 5 minutes a day to 😢😢😢
