☀️CLARIFYING SOMETHING! ☀️ I had mentioned in this video that the OP-1 is not able to export individual tracks which is not true. What I meant is that it's not able to RECORD individual tracks into your DAW, which makes exporting audio much less flexible. What's the difference you might be asking? This video will clarify what I mean: ►bit.ly/3xjz7Ld MAJOR shoutout to Edward Clarke for the OP1 stand: ►etsy.me/3y0rPwP

Question. Need help! I have a Dell Inspiron 15 w/windows 11 and when I try to mount the op1 it won't connect as a device. It pops up for a second or two and goes away and I'm not able to mount. Do you have any ideas what it could be?

What may be easier/less time consuming for dumping tracks into your daw is to just use the USB and navigate to the USB/Drive function in the OP-1 and drag your 4-track files into your DAW. They would be all lined up, separated and ready to go.

Unfortunately, it seems you've complicated your process. 1:35 and on, you can export 4 individual tracks (separate stems), and a master, now, and before the update through (shift/COM(DISK) USB, mode. You can't bus them live, individually like certain 4 in/out interfaces, but you export them to a computer from a saved aif file. Also, to get a "master track", use the built in recorder while your live mix is playing and record to "vinyl" then export and overlay with the 4 individual "tape" tracks. This is a good way to get some cool master effects going too. Thing is, this workflow is based about in OP-1 workflow. If you start the bulk of the work here, its 5 tracks to work with, easy.
@LiamKillen3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried this actually but i’ll look into it- thanks! seems like quite a few steps though and “op1 heavy” just to export individual tracks where as with other instruments like the Digitone + Roland products it’s one step- directly through USB.
@claypipemusic3 жыл бұрын
@@LiamKillen you just connect your op1 via usb, it shows up as a drive, and you drag the files over.
@LiamKillen3 жыл бұрын
That is pretty easy actually!
@LiamKillen3 жыл бұрын
But if i understand correctly, it still wouldn’t be possible to bounce “live”- as in play a live performance, with other instruments, perhaps and bounce out individual stems that way. You’re only able to bounce out stems/loops composed within the op1, is that right? This is the sort of set up i’m searching for now- like a spontaneous live sort of thing
@outdatedgear50363 жыл бұрын
@@LiamKillen Track 1 through track 4 show up as individual files on the OP-1 when you open it up on the PC. They are AIFF files. So if you drag and drop those into individual tracks inside the daw they will show up separately. So track 1(OP-1) to track 1(DAW). Whatever you record on the OP-1 will play inside the daw. You can't do this live or in conjunction with a daw.

Hallo! So USB audio is only in mono for me. I'm connecting it via USB with Ableton Live and have selected it as the output / input. I'm now monitoring on headphones via the OP-1 headphone socket and it's only in mono. When I add reverb as the master effect, it's a stereo effect so the headphone socket obviously is fine. Any clues on how to get stereo audio from DAW?? Thanks!

The new update is killer for my setup. So I use an iPad for arranging and such, especially when I'm travelling. I remember the last trip I went on, I made loops on the op1, then used the USB cable to connect to a battery bank, that has an sd card reader built in. Save the op1 loops to the sd, then use the sd to transfer files to the iPad, or use WiFi to transfer from the bank to the iPad. Now I can plug the op1 into my iPad and record into an app. Done. Easy. Fugg yea.

@@LiamKillen maybe I found a workaround, which is not exactly a solution but a sort of. This is my finding: if you export the tracks as audio clips, in ableton live (which is my DAW of choice), you can select each audio track and then right click on them. From the menu you can select "convert to midi" with different options. I haven't tried it yet, hope it works because the OP-1 can be an excellent portable musical sketchbook... but if you can't export your ideas at home as midi I think it is a major issue!

Anyone using the OP1 with Reason Studios? I can't figure out how to easily get the OP1 set as the audio input with headphones/Macbook as the output. I'm using a workaround of creating an aggregate audio device, but it's not a very smooth process. Any tips are appreciated!

Does it work properly just through your desktop?
@willclifford55793 жыл бұрын
@@LiamKillen Yes, the OP1 seems to be functioning as expected if I use a tool like Audacity for input/output. The OP1 shows up as a device in Reason just fine and when I don't have it plugged in, I have no issues using audio through the Macbooks input/output. However, unlike Ableton, when Reason detects an audio device that can serve as both an input and output, it doesn't give you the option to choose separate devices for each. The best solution I've found online has been to use an aggregate device, but it's sort of an annoying process - www.reddit.com/r/reasoners/comments/42c28i/is_it_possible_to_select_a_different_output/.
