I have a similar tarp setup but I use the two "color " emergency blankets for my sidewalls... mylar side inward during the cold months to reflect heat within the enclosure. In the summer the mylar side is reversed so as to reflect the sun away from the enclosure. I hang them with clips, the large spring clips you can find at Walmart or Office Max or Staples. It works well and is cost effective and easily replaced. I love Vancouver Island. You and Emi make a super cute couple. Love Cruzie, too!

I found a few places in Vermont but the really nice ones in Maine. I took a week long road trip up the coast of Maine this past fall didn't pay for camping at all. Started in where NY, VT and Mass conjoin and went through VT, NH & ME all the way up to St.Croix International Historical Park. Acadia National Park was packed even end of season. Really need a bicycle to see anything there. NO where to Park to see stuff if you have a vehicle. Slept in a few Park & Rides. But man Maine has some awesome little pull outs with facilities I can think of one on the Penobscot River I could of stayed there forever it was so beautiful and peaceful just outside Katahdin Woods & Water

You probably know this already Chrome, but if you bring your done down close enough, you can grab it with your hand from underneath, then roll it upside down and it will shut down. This saves potential damage when the ground is unsuitable to land on.

Aw, missed the premiere. Great seeing the backcountry out there Chrome! One of my buddies has an iPad in his overlanding rig, set up just to the right of where you have your iPhone mount. You would have to look away from the road a bit more, so maybe not as safe. Might be a bit better on the backroads though, compared to my buddy looking down at it on the highway! 🤪

You have amazingly clear lakes up there! Here in Kansas, most lakes are of a brown or greenish color. That's all I can think of, say...when you talk about using the hot shower device! Here, I don't think that shower device would work, cuz the lake water is nasty!

If you get an iPad, if you can, get one that has the 'cellular' option, they are about S130 (USD) more. You don't have to set them up with the data service/SIM, but that option includes the GPS receiver and acceleratometer. So for using your map apps it would work stand-alone. If you don't get that option, you will need an external GPS adapter/source.

The BEST MAPPING I HAVE FOUND IS BACKROAD MAPBOOKS for Bc. and Vancouver Island. There is an ELECTRONCI MAP FOR ALL BC. I found it super accurate two years ago on Van island. It lists all the FREE AND PAID AND PROVINCIAL NATIONAL campsites , hiking trails and 4X4 roads Each campsite has a description of how many sites how hard the road is to get in and what you might find interesting there.. I think the iPad option would be an excellent idea 💡. A lot of automobiles dashboards have spaces on them for putting a tablet on. Perhaps you could research to see if you could get a replacement dashboard that has an area for an iPad to go on. If not, you could always get an external display holder for an iPad as well as your iPhone.

One option is a double din navigation radio with CarPlay and a Ram mount for the iPad. This way the navigation head unit can also have a rear camera and it has a built in map system in case your out of cell range and help you back out of dead end trails. With the iPad you can have a couple apps open switch between OnXoffroad and iHunter for example. Then install a GMRS radio to get more range and it’s powered by your battery instead of having to charge your hand held radios. Midland radio sells kits and maybe you and Emi could install them. These are just ideas. Hope this is helpful Chrome. 👍Adventure Awaits so get going.
