My everyday carry is the Lihit Lab Smart Fit Actact Compact Pen Case, but I also have and love The Superior Labor Leather Tool Holder. I have both in black. I love them both! I need to get over the fear of ruining TSL one and carry it more often lol.
@LittleCocoStudio7 ай бұрын
Ooh, I just looked it up - it looks really nice and compact (I guess that’s why it’s in the name 😅). I was worried about ruining my own wallet at first as well, but they are quite durable! I do think those darker marks showed up after I started putting it in my purse, rather than in the utility case, but I’m okay with the marks. As long as it isn’t an ink stain 🤣

@@LittleCocoStudio hahaha I am the clumsiest so who knows what kinda marks and stains mine will get but yes, still should totally use it!

@@anicame2 I hear you! I am clumsy … and careless, too. Who tinkers with a pen converter right over their Cousin and leather cover? Sigh. Of course it was the one time I didn’t pull over my ink cloth as a precaution. 🤦🏻♀️

Wow thank you so much❤ for showing the comparative sizes of the hobonichi A5 cousin vs Leuchtturm1917! I remember barely squeezing the Leuchtturm in with my lunchbox and other daily carry so unless they make an English avec I guess I will just be content with my non-TMR-paper B6 winkia since the vertical weekly calendar is a must for me and A6 doesn't have it. Sure watching swatch videos of someone who has spent less than 5 minutes with an ink is fun but still I feel there is a lot more weight and value and just I really love reviews of things that have stood the test of time. Those reviews mean more. Not sure if that makes sense but Thanks for making the review!
@LittleCocoStudio7 ай бұрын
I was happy to share the comparison! I’m glad it helped you with your decision, and sticking with your B6 winkia sounds like a great idea! I’m hoping hobonichi will some day come out with that A6 + weekly verticals. 🤣 Probably wishful thinking, but who knows! Thank you for your kind feedback on this style of review! I also enjoy watching first impression and ink swatch (especially comparison!) videos a lot! There’s so much great content out there 🥹 Thanks for taking the time to watch this video and for commenting. I appreciate you! 🥰

I really enjoy hearing you talk through your thought process on these purchases. I’ve had this pen wallet for 6 years now in the dark brown and love it for all the same reasons you list. It’s such a nice brown and doesn’t change colours as much as the lighter ones, it also doesn’t stain as easily. I got the A5 portfolio collaboration in this same style and have gotten so much use out of them. The A5 holds all my letter writing supplies. One day I hope to get the utility pouch but I don’t think wonderpens have stocked that in a very long time.
@LittleCocoStudio7 ай бұрын
Oh wow - 6 years is incredible! I hope I feel the same way about mine in another few years. 🥹 I would love to see how yours has aged over the years. I also have the A5 🤭, and have been using it for my letter writing supplies as well. 💌 It makes me so happy to use. I haven’t seen the utility case at wonder pens in ages. I ended up getting mine from 26 Market because I got too impatient. 😬 I have seen people seeking them second hand on BST groups as well, though, so that might be an option as well!

@@LittleCocoStudio I trust that you will still be loving yours in the future years. I don’t think I’m able to post a photo here so I’ll just describe the wear on mine: It’s mostly a few scratches that show a lighter colour underneath, the gold of superior labor is starting to wear off in tiny spots. I’m in a drier climate that Toronto and have dry skin and along with the chocolate brown colour, it hasn’t developed much of a patina. The outside pocket has stretched a lot and I just love the bumps in the leather from where the three pen slots are inside. 🤓

@@knowmatter thank you for describing your pen wallet. It sounds so lovely. I imagine the gold label will eventually wear off mine as well, but it’ll just mean it’s been well-loved. I love how much it has moulded around my pens as well. 🥹

I really love the Delfonics A5 pencil case. I'm the type of person who needs all their pens and markers all the time so it holds everything I need and more. It's on the pricier side for a fabric pencil case, but it's really high quality and has tons of pockets.
@LittleCocoStudio7 ай бұрын
Ah, yes! I really, really like the Delfonics case. It looks like it holds a lot and I like that it can fit notebooks in it. I’m still tempted by it, tbh! 😅 It’d be really nice to keep art supplies together with a sketch book! 🤩

Wow! What an amazing gift! 😍 How has yours aged over the last two years? I hope you are able to find a second one! What colour would you get if you could choose?
@WendysPlans7 ай бұрын
@@LittleCocoStudio It is just a little bit darker. I use it everyday, and it hasn't changed a lot. I have the light brown and I would probably get the same color again. It is the perfect color for me. I haven't seen any signs of "break down". I keep 3 pens on both sides and usually a pencil and extra pencil eraser in the outside pocket. So it is "full" and I don't see any signs of distress. My friend (subscriber) bought it and used it, when she bought a new one, she gifted me her old one. So, I'm not sure how old it is. Super well made.

I really enjoyed your video. I keep my fountain pens in my Nanala pen case. I love the unique design and appreciate the craftsmanship of their products. My brother-in-law just returned from Germany and he bought me a Sonnenleder zippered pouch. It is one of the softest leather pouches I have seen and is absolutely gorgeous in person. I have the Yoseka X Superior Labor pen roll and I also think it has ruined other pen cases for me. The leather feels like it’s on a different level from my other leather goods. I’m obsessed with finding more leather goods now 😅. It does have limited space tho… I think I would like to try Rickshaw next because I do want something that can keep my pens cushioned and separate from one another. Thanks for sharing! I think your pen case is aging beautifully ❤

Hi, i will be traveling to Japan in the fall and was hoping to get more information on where to find this zippered pen wallet. I appreciate your channel as a fellow ADHDer and daily journaler.

Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately, this specific pen wallet is an exclusive collaboration between Wonder Pens (a stationery store in Toronto) and The Superior Labor. You might be able to find a second hand one or you can try signing up for an in-stock notification on the Wonder Pens online store. Alternatively, I’ve seen a few other similar leather pouches from TSL, so even if it’s not the same, it’d be the same leather and same maker. I hope that helps! ☺️

@@LittleCocoStudio thank you! I found the product page and the notify button on Wonder Pens. I enjoyed reading their blog post about how that pen wallet came into being. What a wonderful origin story to accompany an already handsome, well thought product. I'm glad to have been introduced to it through your channel.

There's also another similarly sized case from TSL, which opens up whole and lays flat. It has space for pens on the inside (no outside storage). Unfortunately, the pen area does not consist of individual slots, so your pens might be touching when stored there.
@LittleCocoStudio6 күн бұрын
I think I know the one you’re referencing. It’s kind of thin and looks like a wallet when zipped up? It’s very nice looking! I was wondering about that one. The interior leather looks a bit stiffer - I wonder if that might help prevent the pens from touching each other if they’re clipped onto it.
@arcajour-i2r6 күн бұрын
@@LittleCocoStudio Yes, it's called the leather zip pen case. The leather is a little stiff, indeed, but I'm not sure the pens are safe from rubbing. One solution might be to place each pen in a felt sleeve before inserting in the case.

I am not into pens (seriously, with the other parts of journalling/stationary....) but listening to your sounded like I was listening to me. I have a TSL pen case, not sure what it is called, it has a flap and holds just a few pens - I keep a couple sarasa pens and very a small spiral notebook in it. I also got an engineer bag. I also use TN passport as my wallet after getting BK truly yours pockets added.
@LittleCocoStudio7 ай бұрын
Oh, I think I know the pen case that you’re talking about. That one looks really cute as well! I understand drawing the line with fountain pens. It’s quite a deep rabbit hole. 😅 What do you think of the engineer bag and what size do you have? I’ve been thinking about getting a BK truly yours customization and emailed them last year about it, but have been holding back because I’m a bit worried about how much it’ll cost to ship it there and back (+ customs fees). 😳
@AvivaHadas7 ай бұрын
I got the biggest engineer bag directly from TSL. (Impulsive…) Most days it is probably too big. (It fits my lunch bag & winter stuff when I commute.) The truly yours was pricey even without customs. My previous wallet I had been using since the mid-90’s so I used that to justify the purchase. Although both purchases are an example of my lack of restraint with something new. (I’ve been using a hobonichi for years with stickers and the pen that they send with it. Then I found TN…)

@@AvivaHadas Sometimes impulsive decisions turn out to be the best ones! I love the TSL engineer bags, and as I get older, I prefer canvas bags because all leather ones hurt my back (that makes me feel old typing that). I would love to get one someday. 🥲 Okay, upgrading your wallet from the 90s is impressive. I would say your purchase is well justified! What customizations did you choose? I really love the concept behind Truly Yours, so I hope I can get something done --- or a similar service becomes available at a local retailer. As for TNs, it's very hard to exercise restraint! I have more covers than I need, and I was still tempted by their latest Tokyo release.
@AvivaHadas7 ай бұрын
Also tempted by the Tokyo release… I got the zipper pocket - inside/back 2 pockets inside front (credit card, insurance card, drivers license). 1 pocket sideways outside front (work id/metro card) & 3 embossing designs. (I would have gotten more, but I couldn’t decide “name” “internet handle” or “quote” (I got additions to my gifted Kyoto tn too - secretarial pocket - so that it wasn’t pristine & I wouldn’t want to ruin it.)
