Build the robot in half, I mean assemble two sections of the same product to make a whole robot, so a camera on each side, one in front and one in back, two legs and the camera in front is part of the robot and add the other same part of the robot together, so it can go forward or backward reverse the direction, if one part breaks just to change half of the robot...

Question : Why are you using BLDC only ? Why not use servo instead
@awesjosh10 ай бұрын
These are servos! A servo is just a motor that has position feedback. If you were asking why hobby servos were not used, they typically use brushed motors and have port torque transparency. They cannot easily be used for dynamic motions like running and jumping.

Yes, the evaluatios units we have sold are fully assembled and ready to run. That does not mean it is a polished product that you can expect to work in any terrain with no tuning. It has been tested with PC gamepads like a generic Logitech one, XBox controllers, and bluetooth phone gamepads. If you want a quote, please email info@mjbots.com

@awesjosh3 жыл бұрын
It is certainly inspired by it, yes, but also has some key differences. If you count the servos as off the shelf, nearly everything else is 3d printed, which is more accessible by a big factor. It also isn't as capable. :(

@@awesjosh I thought 2400 dps and 17 Nm would beat their actuator? Maybe I remember wrong. (Or maybe you're talking about the full robot!) Anyway, very nice to see all the progress. I live vicariously through your films :-)
@awesjosh3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was talking about the full robot. The actuator design specs are slightly superior to the mini cheetah, (although the beta servos have their peak torque derated a bit). Glad to provide some entertainment! I still have my new turret that mounts on top for whenever we manage to meet up in person again! I suspect I'll find that it is still unsuitably large for the typical arena size. ;)
@tdtrecordsmusic2 жыл бұрын
cool . diy ftw As much as I luv music. I had to take a step back. The world needs more makers. We need to inspire others to build instead of buy. The choice of making things should not be a matter of cost or time spent. It is so important the we practice how to create. I feel like 'how we are human' and perhaps 'how we became human' is coupled to our comprehension and utilization of what is around us. This lifestyle of people on Earth, going to work just to make money, just to spend it.... It's so bad for us. A notion to ponder >> If our life is defined by our experiences and many consider the meaning of life to experience the world. To see ; To feel ; To learn from our experiences ;; then in turn wouldn't we be giving away our lives when we buy things ? DIY is more than saving time and money. Cool project man

It'd be especially useful when it has it found its first landmine or unexploded shell. It'd also be nifty if it could carefully draw all the explosive energy out of a landmine or enexploded shell so as to recharge its own battery whilst simultaneously rendering the shell/mine harmless. And then it would 'fetch' the landmine/shell and melt it down into raw materials that can be made into more robodogs.
@awesjosh3 жыл бұрын
I do think you are on to something!
@obsoletepowercorrupts3 жыл бұрын
@@awesjosh I think _(but can't be arsed to rewatch atm, even though it is a cool video)_ that the robot dog you made is running a pi4? Right? The pi3b (and plus) is way better than the pi4 and not above its station. Not a huge fan of the pi4. It is a 'meh' sbc IMO. So, if the dog messes up and explodes into a great many pieces (on a mine/shell) at least it is only a pi4 that bit the dust.
@awesjosh3 жыл бұрын
Previous versions did use the 3b+. The pi4 does use more power, but I was able to get things running a bit faster with it, which is why I switched.
@obsoletepowercorrupts3 жыл бұрын
@@awesjosh Well it is a nice project. It is a pity two _(presumably networked or joined by gpio and an mmu or similar with extra chips)_ pi3b boards cannot be used for the sole reason of discouraging manufacture of the pi4 beyond owning 1 of them just to learn it _(and then never use a pi4 again),_ and to encourage people to get a pi3b as a protest vote against the pi4 _(and to encourage a dual cpu version of the pi3b with more RAM)._ But I nitpick, and should focus on the fact that you have a nifty robot dog thing there _(which definitely should do the landmine/shell thing somehow)._ It'd be nice to see the robotdog thing dig up a shell and then wear it like a ghostbusters backpack as it vampirically drains the life out of the shell and the shell shrivels like a grape into a raisin. It would really annoy people who deploy landmines because they'd be paying for their opponents' robotdogs everytime they do so. The dog's eyes could roll over like dollar/pound signs everytime is does that (as a form of psychological warfare gloating).
