@@users4007 You do realise even though it's named "Create Aeronautics", that's not all there is to it right? The video clearly shows fully functional collision, bouyancy, weight and balance physics as well as being able to use belt drives as a type of tank tread. So next to being able to built airships which would be cool enough on it's own, you'll also be able to built ground and water based vehicles too making this next to the Create mod itself probably the best mod of all time. So it should be: Who needs to put chests on boats when you can just built bulit ships, air ships, tanks etc. to transport things.

I was ready for that with 1.7.10... remain in motion mod controlled by opencomputers... my frigate had a main canon that could shoot from 10 to over 200 squares away and bomb droppers on each wing, a Star-Trek teleporter and a bunch of other systems and all could be controlled from the deck or a portable computer, either through an API or a distributed visual screen I programmed. Then, Remain in motion stopped updating, then opencomputers and then Minecraft became bleak again... hopefully this will be a major step into making Minecraft great again.

I wonder, while this mod is made specifically for flying machines like planes or airships, with how advanced that physics engine is, it doesn't seem too far off to also branch into other forms of vehicles like cars or boats. Considering conveyor belts can be used as tank tracks the idea's already been considered, but it'd be nice to have full-fledged wheels and suspensions, or perhaps sails and paddles for ships, or whatever other methods of propulsion you can think of. The potential here is endless...

Dunno about cars but boats and even subs seem like they could definitely exist with very little work. Making a way for spaces to be underwater but not filled with water could be tricky, maybe have "air" blocks automatically generated filling enclosed spaces when the structure is built that make water invisible and apply normal physics to anything overlapping them.

I'm excited for one thing: working tanks. Using the mechanical belt as caterpillar tracks you can make the tracks work. Then you have to make a design, make sure the vehicle works correctly, add a cannon and if you want to add a turret to your tank you need to find something to rotate it. Also if you want to make your tank a bit more realistic, make something so it can turn the hull on the spot.

@@moldyaco well the trains use a differant system of operation in that mechanical devices do not work on them when they in train form (ie not deconstucted) but this mod alows stuff to work and move so you can have tracks visa belts (extra points if stuff is just moved alone thoes tracks too :P in a production titan)

@@lechking941 I think it's honestly impressive HOW they solved the contraption on a contraption: the blocks the contraption is made of are copied into a "separate dimension", where they still work as usual. Clicking on parts of the entity will trigger the blocks in the alternate dimension, and thereby trigger their effects, which then get copied back into the overworld

This mod offers a liberty in building that not even the actual Create mod has to ofer as of now (I'm saying this because aeronautics has a BIG change o beeing added in the oringinal mod), it also adds a compact furnance engine that, sadly, no longer exists in Create. Good job! Keep it up this way and we are going to have trains that are going to fly and land on tracks while having working contraptions on them! The posibilities are endles!

I think there are already 2, zeppelin mod and valkyrien skies, zeppelin mod is like made 11 years ago and valkyrien skies have not been updated in a year because i think the dev is remaking the mod for 1.16

Incredible work. I’m hooked by the emergent complex redstone feedback loops for aircraft control. More things in this game need to use nontrivial redstone systems for automation. And the reuse of Create’s existing fans/turbines and conveyor belts is really fun. I think there’s a lot of room for interesting wireless systems in Minecraft mods, beyond CoFH-style powerless infinite-range narrow-band channels. Though anything more complex wouldn’t really mesh with Create’s vanilla+ styling, nor its mechanical power system. Man, I just want to triangulate radio emissions or lightning strikes with antenna arrays. There’s also room for “analogue” redstone to not be a useless mess.

We felt that the use of redstone to control airships autonomously should be something we should encourage through the use of many redstone sensors, and it seems to have turned out well! Thanks for the feedback!

@@createaeronautics1997 One thing I've always wanted to see with mods like this (specifically Valkryien Skies) is a placeable compass that's linked to an item. The placeable one would output a redstone signal in the direction its compass is, like a reverse lodestone. That way you could power propellers on the opposite edges to have it automatically follow players! I love those sensors too, I only just found this mod and I'm already excited to play around with it!

@@4P5MC Create Aeronautics has a block called the Navigation table, where you can input a lodestone compass and it will output analog redstone on each of the four sides of the block based on how much the compass is facing those sides. It’s exactly how the missiles automatically target the lodestone!
