One Year of The Rippah Diaries

It’s officially been one year of The Rippah Diaries, or at least it will be on April 20th. Close enough for us. This week, we’re talking about the past year of the pod, what inspired us to get started, and some of our opinions that have changed with this rewatch of Season One and Two. We’re also going to turn the mic over to you guys and read some of the comments from KZbin and talk about our favorite moments on Instagram. And of course, no episode would be complete without some laughs, so we’re going to relive some of our funniest moments and share some of our never before seen bloopers. This was fun, The times you two cant control your laughter are my favorite parts of the videos because I cant help but start uncontrollably laughing with you. Thx for featuring my comment about Mifi. Congratulations on 1 year and thank you for the entertaining podcasts. Edit: oh also Rachel when you said Stefan would come into Klaus's room in the middle of the night and say "I threw'd up 👶" 🤣 I couldn't control my laughter. You two are hilarious in these pods. Bons got that dog in her. 😂 idk why but it feels good being one the ones that started watching in Dark times as yall say talking about the mics from early season 1. The mic quality never bothered me because the videos were so good. I'm one of the people who love hearing about what you think of the unique shots or what the actors might be dealing with while shooting.

And about the Halloween idea, Rachel could wear the outfit Inadu had when she created the wolf curse, And Sarah could wear a white dress and the cool hairstyle Davina had when she went off on Klaus and Elija(when she said "but I know what you really are, an animal" sorry I don't remember the episode")

I love your takes on TVD. It's sassy, fun, and totally entertaining. Am looking forward to Season 3 and your opinions on all the shenanigans. Btw, considering your love for Elijah and Klaus, can we also look forward to the Originals episodes at some point? I hope you get to do a convention as well. So many of the actors are polar opposites of the characters they play.

just catching up now, congrats on your podcast anniversary! Just hearing you speak about Isobel / Kathrine and how Katherine knew about Elena. I think there's a high chance that Isobel found out about the Sun & the Moon curse through her research and realised that her daughter was the doppelganger and that's what motivated her to become a vampire with the aim of protecting Elena (or to just find out more information) but I think her plan got derailed when she came across Katherine. I think there's high chance that Isobel didn't know that Katherine would be alive in modern day because all the records said she burned in the church in 1864 until she (Isobel) became a vampire then she realised Katherine was alive....It also shocks me that John Gilbert didn't know that he was the father of the doppelganger when Elena sooner (I know he might not of known what Katherine looked like when Elena was little) but I thought the Curse of the Sun & Moon would've been common knowledge through the founding families, you would think the it would've been in at least one journal from back in the day...maybe it was I can't fully remember as it's been a while since I have watched. This is really just a brain dump of thoughts / theories. Can't wait for another year of these episodes!

In response to the speculation about how Katherine knows about Elena, i always assumed she found out through Isobel. We know that they had found each other due to “genetic curiosity” (i cant remember if it was isobel that sought out katherine or the other way around) before we meet either of them, and Isobel specialized in studying supernaturals in the mystic falls area specifically. I’m sure she told katherine all about the lockwood lore, and also that isobel told her she had had a child before she turned and i assume isobel had kept tabs in some way or another on elena and knew she was identical to katherine. Isobel had knowledge of the doppelgänger, katherine specifically, and the lockwood curse, so it seems like she would have shared all of that with katherine and that’s what made katherine seek out mason to begin with. Its been a while since i rewatched so everyone feel free to let me know if anything is ever stated that negates any of this, but my perception of the situation was always that it was all a long con on katherines part, and she wanted to prime mason to get her the moonstone before she took any action in mystic falls

But love all of this exactly what we were thinking with Isobel, I think the only call out is Katherine already knew about the Lockwood's in 1864 and she was the one that gave them the moonstone! So maybe like you said she was playing the long game of getting the moonstone back even without knowing about the doppelgänger?

@@TheRippahDiaries okay yes in rereading i didn’t articulate this well, def katherine knew about the lockwoods i meant to moreso say that isobel is the one who pointed her in mason’s direction because she had more knowledge of the current living members of the bloodline. I definitely like to believe that katherine knew what she was doing the whole time and found mason deliberately, because i refuse to believe my queen katherine would be in florida for *~no reason~* to stumble upon him randomly
