I'm looking into buying the z 6III as well but have been having the dilemma of spending 1400 moneys more on the z8 or not. I know the AF, resolution and shutter cover are good "pros" but the z6III has touch focus while in view finder mode, better ibis, flip screen and better low light performance. Plus, the money I'll save from buying the z8 will help when i buy the 180-600 🤔
@neoshazamАй бұрын
@@emanueloliveira7997 Depending on where you're located and if you're okay with used or refurbished the Z8 here in the US is getting really close to the Z6III new price so the big differences are : megapixels = 45 vs 24 , AF = Z8 better/slightly better, 8K Video vs 6K video. I occasionally wish for the 45 megapixels but I haven't printed at a size to warrant that yet and 6K is fine and I'm still learning the autofocus so I think I'm making the errors not the camera

As a Sony to Nikon migrant, it is noticeably heavier for sure, but the grip is bigger as well. depends on what lens you'll pair it with and how long you intend to carry it! Most Nikon zooms are pretty light weight.

You should get a7rV or a1. These cameras have better autofocus than any Nikon and comparable image quality (since Nikon buys sensors from Sony, can't make those themselves). Personally, I switched from Nikon dslr to Canon R6 mk ii and I'm very happy.

I prefer the R3, due to the flawless adapter capability for EOS glass, ergonomics, and high ISO DR. I don't even own RF glass, I just share with the EOS 3 film bodies. I looked at going F6 + Z8, even rented a Z8, but the glass situation was less attractive. I have stabilized L zooms from 16-400mm, and stabilized 35mm F2. There were no native FX stabilized primes, and I wanted that for film.
@spaqin2 ай бұрын
Funnily enough, EOS glass can be adapted to all the other systems, but on the other hand Canon will not let you any other lenses in their mirrorless system. I'd rather have the autofocus M mount adapter for Z and potential for high quality glass from Sigma or Tamron than getting myself into a closed mount corner.
@jw483352 ай бұрын
@@spaqin Yeah but I'm not using RF glass, so I'm not locked into anything. I have another 8 lenses for three other mounts that I regularly adapt to the R3. Canon also appears to be opening up the mount. I own a Pentax K70 and an Olympus EM5ii, both dedicated to scanning different film formats, and I owned a Sony A7R3 in the past. I landed on EF glass because it gave me a four lens do-everytging kit that spanned analog and digital. Now, I am intrigued by the Nikon 28-400mm. I could do that with the new 50mm F1.4 and then an F6 with 28-300mm and Tamron 35mm VC. The total weight of that comes in less than my current kit and hiking it would require fewer lens changes.

@jw483352 ай бұрын
@@Mr09260 I'm not sure who you're talking to. If this is intended to target my posts, I think you should read them again. I don't care to buy any new glass, for any mirrorless system. I've tested my existing lenses extensively on a 50 megapixel sensor, and there is no benefit from a resolution perspective to me buying new glass. In fact because I can't use new glass on my film bodies, which I care far more about than digital, I could not care less about z-glass or RF glass or Sony glass or whatever. I May opt in the future to adapt my Canon glass to other mirrorless systems. Oddly the EF glass I've seen adapted to Z works every bit as well as Nikon FX glass adapted to Nikon mirrorless. I also adapt several medium format lenses, etc. I have nothing against a Z Glass, in fact it looks quite impressive, but I would rather spend my money on other things, like Hasselblad 500 series lenses, for example.

Use a little of the matter that holds your skull, the Z mount with the mathematical data of its measurements is 17% larger than any other mount in FF format from any other brand, that is designed for even greater compatibility in the future, you can put in with an adapter any mount that has something FF, they also reduced the space between the crown that makes up the mount therefore in the future you can add more complex objectives with greater connections between the camera and the objective because in those 16mm of margin you can put technology that is about to be developed by any brand, literally Nikon has and always has had the most solid mount in terms of durability, compatibility, versatility and adaptation, Nikon under its name Nikkor has taken out legendary objectives of a quality that is absurd, we have a 400mm that works at F / 2.8, we have the mythical "Plena" being a 135mm at F / 1.8 that if you used it to record video you would realize the quality and the bokeh it generates, we have more legendary things, a 58mm that is crazy, nicknamed the "Noct" which is an F/0.95, can you understand that with professional quality? They were already in the seventies releasing gems like the NIKKOR N Auto 35mm f/1.4 lens that you can measure on a 2020 FF and it works, that you can put in an FTZ adapter and it works, if you are still hungry come for more, Nikon in lenses and vision in the future with its cameras and technology has a menu for days, yes it is worth it we endure the laughter for not having the best autofocus in video but be sure of one thing, when one day you want to take a photo that you cannot fail because the battery died, the viewfinder broke, the screen stopped working or you have problems with the memory cards, think that others will be taking that photo with an ugly, heavy and outdated Nikon.

3:59 False. Sony sells a camera called A1 which has 50 MP and 30 fps. Similarly Canon has R5 and R5 mk ii. A1 and R5 were the pioneering cameras that bought high fps with high MP count. Z9/Z8 was obviously a response to those cameras, and not a pioneering camera.
@nevvanclarke9225Ай бұрын
But generally speaking high megapixel cameras aren't the sort of cameras geared towards high frame rates. You really don't need it and when you think about it even cameras that shoot between eight and 10 frames a second is still more than enough if you press the shut up for three seconds and end up with 30 images and you can't get the image after 30 images. Can I just say you're no good at Photography? That's simple as that I cannot believe the ridiculous nature of cameras going to 40 and 50 frames a second it's just stupid.

"The jack of and master of all trades, The Nikon Z8" - except for the AF
@stefan_becker2 ай бұрын
In fact, it's pretty good. Firmware 2.0 has significantly improved autofocus. As a former Sony Alpha 1 owner, I think it might be even better because it can automatically detect the type of subject, which Sony cameras can't do. Also, my Alpha 1 could never focus properly on bird's eyes. However, you have to use the Z8 differently than you would a Sony. With the Z8, 3D tracking is usually the best way to focus on your subject. This means you select what you want to focus on by holding down AF-on and then taking pictures. It also works well with human eyes, jumping on them when you start to move them close to an eye. Using area AF with auto-eye detection also works pretty well, but not quite as well as the Alpha 1. I'd call it "more than good enough."
@davetv81712 ай бұрын
@@stefan_beckerit’s very good. I also had the A1 and can agree with the older tech isn’t as good. I do have the A9III and I find them very similar and I know I can trust the Z8 to get the shots I’m looking for. The z6iii is close but not as and needs support from DXO raw still. The 135 Plena is one of my favorites and I believe that paired with the Z8 is phenomenal. I need to try the 180-600 with it as well as the Z8 is supposed by DXO.

@@Mr09260 One has nothing to do with the other. I also own a Sony A7rV, which has the _clearly_ "smarter" autofocus. By that I mean the ability to find eyes anywhere in the frame with almost unerring accuracy from any angle. Here the Nikon Z8 is clearly inferior. Compare it yourself if you don't believe me. When it comes to the speed of "tracking", the Z8/Z9 or the Sony Alpha 1 are obviously better than the A7rV. So what exactly is the "best" autofocus? The reliability of finding eyes? Then the Sony A7rV wins. When it comes to tracking, the Z8/Z9 is about as good as, say, an Alpha 1, but not "better". In short, the Z8 does _not_ have the best autofocus in the world. But it is pretty good, as I can attest as the owner of a Z8, an A7rV and a former owner of an Alpha 1.
