Hi everyone, my name is Mai Amano.
I am currently a masters student at University of Tokyo, researching on Sustainability education, figuring the way to provide information on how to create a sustainable future for everyone.
I have both Japanese and international background, because I used to Live in London for around 8 years, graduated from high school and university there.
Currently I am stepping out of my comfort zone, and competing for Miss Universe Japan this year, as a semi-finalist.
"There is no Planet B." This powerful message from a science class at age 16 sparked my commitment to sustainability. I have been studying about environmental and social issues, throughout high school, university and now under masters.
I decided to apply to one young world summit this year for two reasons
Firstly because I have known the event and wanting to attend for years.
And secondly, because I know that only taking actions can make a change.
By attending one young world, as Japanese, student, researcher, and a leader, I would like to share my experiences and messages towards sustainability, as well as discussing with and absorbing others.
Hope you enjoy watching the video!
