After watching Dave Portnoy’s review we decided to give it a try. Being a Queens/NYC native, I have yet to find a place I like on Long Island. We ordered a Portnoy pie and a regular. The pizza did not disappoint and was awesome. This is the only Nassau County/Long Island pizza I could recommend. It is not too doughy or spongy and you can tell they use high quality cheese and the sauce was awesome. Great job Pizzeria G. We will be back!

Low moisture mozzarella is more New York style whereas fresh mozzarella is more an Italian thing. Low moisture helps keep the crust crispy. Also, if the pie is too paper thin, it may not be sturdy enough to hold the sauce and cheese together without flopping. That’s what happened here, because clearly the crust was black on the bottom yet still flopped.

Can you review Raimo’s Pizzeria in Plainview, NY? I’ve tried many grandma pies all over Long Island. Theirs are by far the best. Every time I get a Grandma pie it’s always cooked so perfectly. The crust is golden brown and crispy but not burnt - both on the outside and underneath. The tomato sauce is so fresh and delicious and the cheese is the unbelievable. The amount of sauce and cheese on each slice is perfectly balanced. And they top it with a basil leaf on every slice. Must try this pizza.

Net time on LI, Try Molto Pizza in Babylon. Coal-fired, nice and crispy, charred crust. The Margherita is their standard pie, but also try the Burrata pizza (Burrata cheese is like a creamy mozzarella) , and try the Roma pizza, made with pancetta. It's a top-notch pizzeria
