I think the reheated slice is what makes NY pizza better. They sell so much pizza they can make pies ahead of time, and reheat slices as they’re sold. And end up wasting very little by the end of the day. That’s just my theory. Twice cooked… that’s the best.

A rule of thumb: If you have a decent- sized Italian population in your city, you probably have more than your share of good, to very good Italian food (pizza). A lot of the places that you might come across just don't have many Italians there, so it's not their fault the pizza isn't great. New Orleans has quite a few Italian-heritage people, which is why their Italian food is good. Of course, French food rules in Louisiana.

Dave if you're ever driving through a small town in CT called Brookfield which neighbors Danbury definitely stop at La Piazza pizzeria they have great pizza and I'm not just saying that!. I regularly visit buffets in different cities around the states. Before I go to a buffet, I will place 6 corndogs in my jacket pockets. After entering the buffet, I sneak the corndogs into some of the fried food section trays.
