I have been shaving with a double edge safety razor for over 20 years. I avoid my Adam’s apple by pulling the skin left then right to keep from getting cuts: a sometime slippery procedure. Your explanation of swallow hard and hold to take the Adam’s apple out of play is pure GENIUS!! Thank you. Life Changer!!

@Joe Friday Hey there, Joe. Thanks for getting back to me. You know I'm still getting used to it. Really trying to fall in love with it, but I'm not quite there. I turned 30 and recently went bald, so that's what I primarily use it for. Since I'm bald, having a beard is imperative, so I'm growing it out as full as I can. I currently use a braun series 8 foil shaver for my scalp but just wanted something that shaved a little closer. Also, something that will save me money for years to come on replacement blades, so hopefully it would pay for itself over time just buying those feather blades. Nicked my head a few times on the oneblade, but I'm not giving up.

As a noob in shaving, I got some questions. 1. How do I know which way the grain is on my neck goes? Also I put shaving cream one to twice. Beard and neck area and then mustache on the second one. Does everyone do it three?

Let your hair grow out for 2 or 3 days and look in the mirror to see which way it grows. We call it mapping your face( or head).

The One Blade is a great razor in terms of concept. One caveat to observe, however, is to make a minimum of two, maybe three passes over your face in different directions. The razor otherwise performs as advertised, leaving a nice, baby-smooth face! After shaving, I slap some ice water on my face first, then pat dry and follow with a generous glug of witch hazel to soothe the skin. Then any face balm will finish the job. Be sure to discard the blade after 9-10 passes, three uses, for best results.

So it’s been a decent amount of time to get a fully formed opinion on the Core. I’m curious as to how you feel about the shave to $$ value and overall review. I’m pushing 50, and I have used my “Dad’s “ old school double edged razor blade that ya twist at the bottom and get the DeLorean like access to the blade. My beard is thick enough that multiple bladed razors get clogged with whiskers so I just can’t use them. I can get 2-3 good shaves out of a blade and the pack has five or ten blades in it for $3 or less. So bottom line, should I just stick with what’s been working or is it worth making the switch? Thanks Vato
@averageguytested4 жыл бұрын
Stick with what you have - the core is nice, but the feather blades that it uses don’t last more than 2 shaves and are a bit expensive.

OneBlade Core is the crappiest razor I've ever owned. I got a great deal on it, and purchased it before I discovered OneBlade's absurd WTG-ATG-XTG procedure. Here's what works for me: I lack the patience and don't want to expend the time and energy to follow OneBlade's recommendation, so I quickly shave with the OneBlade in the shower, then get out of the shower, dry myself, and run my electric shaver over my face to get all the whiskers the OneBlade missed. As soon as I've used up all those short-lived Feather blades, I'm pitching this thing. As for those Feather blades: all the metal of a double-edged blade, but only one edge. Talk about waste...
@averageguytested4 жыл бұрын
Really? Have you done multiple passes? Also are you changing blades after the second shave?
@dickyoung22924 жыл бұрын
theMediaMart As I said - I don’t want to spend the time and energy on multiple passes, but even when I have, it’s still not as good a shave as I get with my Schick cartridge razor - which doesn’t need a new cartridge after every other shave. Glad you like this product, kudos to you, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s too much work for an inferior result.
