The CNC is an amazing machine all on its own, but it’s ever more powerful when used in conjunction with the other tools in your shop. In this video, Morgan makes a table saw sled, using the CNC to create positive stops for extremely accurate angled cuts. With just two locating pins (or dowels), you can set the angle and make crosscuts on the table saw with cnc-like accuracy. This is just one of the many ways you can use your cnc to get better results from the other tools in your shop. Make sleds for the bandsaw, custom squares with unique angles, fixtures for repetitive assembly processes, the sky’s the limit!
If you want to make this sled for yourself, the router bit, miter slot runner, and dovetail hardware can be found here…

Great video and a well thought out jig. On a different note, isn't a bit hypocritical to be very adamant about not supporting spindles in your cnc yet recording a video while using one?

question: if i set the xy to the bottom left corner, will that still be ok since we are cutting it out anyways and that in itself will make the final board perfectly 90 degrees anyways?

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I will use this concept for sure in the future. Quick question: What is the black hold down you were using on the dovetail board?

I made this jig today. Cool idea and it was easy to do, but aren't the angles wrong? The 45 is correct but the 60 degree will give a 30 degree cut on a board clamped to the jig. The part marked 30 will give you a 60 degree angle and 22.5 degree mark will give you 67.5 degree angle on the board you cut. Am I wrong on this?
