Great real time video of fishermen bringing their boats in from the sea Wes. Thirty years ago I did relief milking for a farmer, who owned a Ford 7710 four wheel drive. The 8210 is one size larger.

Wes, Cromer is not in the north of England ! it's not a big country but it stops at Berwick on Tweed, 240m ish North. PS I love whelks, wonderful strong flavour. A nice big whelk (nearly golf ball size) dropped into someone's pint of Guinness, will lurk just under the head, causing all sorts of amusement !

The UK has a Maritime Climate. The Gulf Stream warms the seas around it. That delays Autumn and drags a bit on Spring, but keeps parts of the northwest and southwest mild enough to grow palm trees. The UK Climate is all about the Gulf Stream. It moderates and complicates the latitude factor. That's why we talk about the weather all the time. Our weather comes as much from the sea as from the atmospheric air masses. Wes, You are a very welcome visitor, commenter and do keep coming back. 'To see ourselves as others see us', as Robert Burns said, is a welcome thing.

Here in Nova Scotia, we have a big influence on our weather. It's called the Bay Of Fundy/Gulf of Maine, and of course on the other side the Atlantic. Keeps us warmer in winter, cooler in summer. I am in the southern most part, and your New Jersey has a much colder winter than we do. But I bet we do not get all the heat you do in the summer. But if you go inland we have colder temps in winter and warmer in summer.

Like the UK being washed by the Gulf Stream. There is the sea, then there are atmospheric masses. In between, are the peculiar, local climates.

They use tractors in the same way at Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. Smaller boats, and a fresh water environment. A service will hook onto your boat trailer, back way out into the shallow water shoreline area to get to water that is deep enough to either launch or retrieve your boat. Call them to launch, and then call them again to get your boat out of the water. One of those things after figuring out that's the only way you get your boat onto that lake, you willingly tip well.
