The distance that I grab the ball with my left hand is not enough, still jamming in that position. Distance should be more than that, maybe x1.5 more. It's very hard to arrange for recreational players.

Steve I admire your coaching style. Have you ever been approached by any pros or have you coached any juniors who became Pros. Would love to know more about your tennis career and journey.

Hi. Thanks for the kind words. I've never worked with a player that became famous. But I've trained 5 juniors from total beginner to tour level, and who played pro tennis. And I've worked with many who played pro level. Currently I'm helping one pro player ATP tour with online coaching. It's great that your enjoying the site. www.oneminutetennis.com

Generally, your advice is great and I really respect it, so thank you. Have to say though I have heard this idea of use of the off hand before and never understood why spacing with the off hand helps spacing to the racquet when it travels through the stroke. Surely it gives correct spacing to the racquet hand, but the racquet itself travels in a wider arc. What am I missing?

Thanks. A great question. That's why I included the slow motion video showing me jammed. If the left hand is strong and straight, away from the body. It's totally unnatural to let the ball inside that line. It's not by chance that every pro has this movement. Glad your enjoying the channel. Do you have any other tennis issues that I could help with? If so let me know www.oneminutetennis.com

Try to imagine that the incoming ball is a white-hot lump of charcoal that will burn your left hand if you let it get too close to it.

How about moving forward to meet the ball instead of allowing the ball to play you?
