Nice. Several slow mo vids of Federer hitting a forehand and his racket tipping forward on contact. Some ppl think it's intentional but obviously it's because his wrist is super loose and he's made contact using the bottom part of his string bed by accident.

Good instruction, when you say to turn the forearm up towards the sky with the example of a wristwatch which would then face towards the ground, that would also open up the face of the racket towards the sky, how do we avoid that please?

you know how much energy it takes to get a wide base and load the legs and push off the ground? it's much more than swinging the arm for sure

And how can you control the contact point so the racket is not open or closed? Thank u coach

Similar to golf by turning off the arms. Relies on an explosive body pivot. Can’t forget independent forearm and wrist action in the thru swing.

What about the grip pressure?When I grip looser, my arm gets looser but the racket wobbles in my hand when it collides at the ball. When I grip harder, the racket collides at the ball more solid but my arm gets stiffer......any suggestions?
@dinomagkalas35233 күн бұрын
Try 0 grip pressure prior to contact, then squeeze about a 2 grip pressure as you make contact with the ball and back to zero right after you finish and complete your shot.

Great insight! Could you cover the part of the ball to strike and how to finish the stroke. And where in relationship to your body is optimal ? Also best ball striking spot on ball if you’re by the baseline vs service line or No Man’s land. Thanks for your videos!

Very good thoughts on the forehand. Most folks, me included, seem to think the loose grip is the way to promote looseness on the forehand, but you present a tangible way to get the feel of a loose arm, which is the key.

The way I do it is to 'throw' the racket at the ball which is same result I think..?
@themrstroke4 күн бұрын
Good thought. I think this is kind of the same thing as throwing the racquet head into the ball. To me, oneminutetennis is just showing an efficient tangible way to to it. If one supports the racquet weight in the off hand with a somewhat relaxed grip, you are set up for a loose arm throwing the racquet head into the ball.
@topspin17153 күн бұрын
One way to test if you are “throwing” racket Get a racket without strings and hit a forehand. If the no string racket sensation feels similar with how you feel with a racket then you’re doing it right.

One of the most underrated channel! If you watch these videos and practice you will be at least UTR 4 regardless of the age. I figured this out by self-experiment with moderate heavy racket. I must use kinetic chain effectively to move racket around. If your racket is too light, you won't feel like you must use more than dominant arm to play tennis. I don't use the word "hit the ball" anymore it's totally misleading. But rather "throwing racket and meet the ball at between 1 & 2 o'clock".

When you swing it looks like you over-rotate, your left shoulder turning away from the net. There have been studies showing Sinner etc where their shoulders are facing the net at contact, their left shoulder only turning away from the net as the ball goes over the net. This ensures that they get the sling shot effect by decelerating the shoulder rotation and the right arm being accelerated. Following your example means getting less acceleration, as the arm will swing at the same speed as the trunk rotates. Have I misinterpreted?

Could you please make a video on how to toss ball for kick serve - for this one that ball does not fall directly to your hand but to your left ?
