Great tips. I’ve used OneNote for 7 years, and you taught me tips, especially about indexing and clipping. Thanks!

Misty, I’m 24 minutes in the video ;) and have a question- how do we link the onenote notebook to our matters? I’ll give it a try tomorrow for a new claim file I received - thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge with us ;)

Niki, I've found this somewhat irksome, but it seems you have to go to file, share (or just click the Share button in the top right depending on your version) and you can just copy and paste a link to it into another document.

This is really helpful. Thanks for posting! Just wondering whether you recommend using OneNote for complete document management on a case/project from start to finish, or if you only use it for memos/notes, indexes and research and keep document management somewhere else (i.e. OneDrive). When do you decide to move other key documents into OneNote? would you only do that for the trial prep stage? Finally, is document management/flow covered in your 365 course, or is mainly about set-up? Thanks again!

Hello Troy. I use OneDrive for document management, Microsoft Lists for indexing docs located in OneDrive such as pleadings, document productions, depositions, records, etc., and I use OneNote mainly for notes and research, until trial, and then I heavily use it for trial. I do not store docs in my Notebook, as it would make it too large for my mobile devices (iPad during trial). I use my Outlook quick action button for OneNote all the time to quickly bring over calendared events info and start taking notes very quickly about that event. My Microsoft 365 Masterclass has a lesson that talks about using OneDrive for document management, how to set up alerts when documents are added, how to send files out of the OneDrive document library, etc. While my Masterclass covers setup (start to finish), there are multiple video lessons that just focus on single items such as document management, calendar and email management, task management, using Microsoft Forms for internal and external use, and so much more. I hope this answers your questions. Of course, feel free to reach out to me via my website if you need anything else. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
