One very useful case for "daisy-chaining" is when a duo or more stand close together at one mic. That way a single feed from the mix can be fed to all the vocalists-musicians as they harmonise, and by substituting longer patch cords you can have performers be as close or not-so-close as required. Brilliant!

Most built-in sound of any sort in a computer will be fairly average. If you're looking for improved sound, a simple USB DAC/amp like a Tempotec Sonata HD Pro, Shanling UP4 (review coming soon) or EarMen Eagle would make a significant improvement to the sound.

I had one of these oneodio pro 50s. Used for a year atleast before i upgraded to sony wh xm4 . I have to say this is the best headphones one could buy. And i disagree with you on certain parts such as the highs being too harsh on some songs. This happens to almost most of the headphones even expensive ones. I think they are tuned a certain way to get better highs. It is very balanced i have to say. And overall tonal balance is very good. People tend to judge it mostly because of its price. But if it was placed a bit more expensive people wouldn’t complain much either. The only downside is the build quality compared to other premium headphones.
@PassionforSound2 жыл бұрын
I don't make assumptions about headphones based on price so it doesn't matter how it's priced - I'll still say the same things, but might have criticised it if it were priced too high because that would put it up against much better competition. They're a solid headphone for sure, but having heard very many headphones at this point and having directly compared the Pro 50s to some similarly priced options, they definitely have a slightly unbalanced tonality. That said, I agree with you that many headphones have similar treble emphasis and I criticise those headphones too. IMO it's a flawed approach to tuning that's seemingly done to create a perception of extra detail, but at the expense of tonal accuracy and realism
@ThePunisher9902 жыл бұрын
@@PassionforSound they are not perfect but the best imo. If you consider other headphones in the same price bracket i am sorry to say this outperforms the competition. And here i am solely referring to the price to performance ratio. And what i said about it being priced a bit higher it might sound a bit stretched but it will definitely outperform several headphones in the sound department. Take for example, my friend had a pair of beats solo3 headphones which is a bit more expensive than this.and we both agree this performs better in the sound department.

@@PassionforSound I don’t come from limited range of experience i have used the ono odio’s for a very long time and have basically compared to every other headphones close to its price point which I don’t think was necessary to mention. Yes i agree with you if you say it is not the best headphone on the market. Of course it isn’t! There are so much better sounding headphones. Its endless.But are there better options in this price range in the budget segment? I dont think so and that’s where i disagree with you. I have yet to find one that matches it in that department sound wise be it mid, accurate bass production and clear highs plus sounding almost flat and neutral with good dynamic range. Trust me there is none! And by none means none!!! it is all coming from good amount of experience. The only way you could find better sound quality is by increasing the budget!

Given the different sound signatures of headphones, one has to wonder about the value of the 'Hi Res' designation. I understand it means 'able to reproduce frequencies from 20hz to 40khz' but gives no indication of how accurate the reproduction is. A 'Hi Ref' (for 'reference') standard and labeling would be at least as useful. Then headphones would have to meet a requirement of, say, + or - 3db across a range of 20hz to 30khz to be considered 'Hi Ref'.

Love the video! Great formatting and attention to detail. Sorry if this is a bit out of place, but would it be suitable to buy these headphones for gaming and music listening? Wearing Audio-Technica ATH-M30x's are very uncomfortable for me so I was considering trying these out. Would a headphone DAC and amp driving the OneOdio Pro 50 yield a noticeable upgrade in sound quality, something such as the FiiO E10K USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier? Apologies if this sounds silly, I'm new to learning about DACs and amps. Really appreciate how in-depth you went in the video.
@PassionforSound4 жыл бұрын
Ask good Justin, I'm not sure these will be an upgrade over the M30s because I haven't tried the M30s. They are pretty light and comfortable for a cheaper headphone though so might be worth a try. If you're taking about adding a DAC and amp instead of a regular headphone output in a PC then yes, you'll notice a nice improvement in sound quality. Where are you located?
@EBJustin4 жыл бұрын
I think the design of the M30 is very similar to the previous M20 and the 40/50, but I might be incorrect as I have not compared them. The onboard audio on my PC is definitely lackluster and a bit underwhelming at times as it seems like a downgrade over even USB headphones. I’ll definitely consider opting for a DAC and amp. I was thinking about getting a DAC and amp combo instead of the DAC and the amp separate. I’m located in New York, if that helps.
@PassionforSound4 жыл бұрын
Bummer! Was hoping you were nearer Australia so I could send your the Pro50s to try out ☹️ I definitely think starting with a decent DAC/amp is a good idea. I'm reviewing the Shanling UP4 and UA1 at the moment which are both very good for the low prices. Might be a low risk place to start. Even something like the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro is a good option.
@EBJustin4 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the thought! It means a lot. I’ll be sure to take a look at those units.
