Tough crowd on here. 😲 Anyway to me in the US it does indeed look and play like the flagship killer phone I used to know from Oneplus. Sure there are some compromises many are complaining about, but none that matter much to me. Superior main camera system, stellar chipset, big battery with good fast charging, older but still 2k display, great stereo speakers, 4 years of Android updates, beautiful and strong hardware, at under $700 base price. Wish they could have kept the price the same in all regions and they'd kept it on T-Mobile in the US, but what can you do.

Here in the UK the 16gb 256 variant is £799 which is €899 and $966 respectively based on today's exchange rates. Great review as always.

The UK price includes VAT at 20%, the US prices do not include local taxes (average 6-8%). So the 16GB version is slightly cheaper than the US version after correcting for local taxes.

got mine for 699 here in the US. They had an offer for free ram and rom upgrade, and it was 799 originally. 761 and 869 after tax respectively (NYC sales tax 8.875%).

I've been considering buying this phone but the telephoto lens not used for zooming even at 1080p is a dealbreaker for me. I go to a lot of music gigs and i wanna take videos at least at 2x without quality loss.

@@poligonzo5300 The digital zoom on Pixels is also really bad in videos, even in the Pro models. Videos zoomed beyond 5x is unusable in the 7 pro. For the regular Pixel 6 or 7, videos at even 3x is really bad.

if you notice, most of the chinese phone uses 1080p for front camera, except Huawei and Honor has 4K for selfie video. This has pushed me away to support Samsung or Apple is because front camera video is important for most of the online meetings.

To be honest, I have no idea why they keep doing it... My wife still said "It's weird because most people I know take selfies more than regular photos" and though I am not one of those people, I do know that a lot of people need a good selfie camera. Not to say the selfie on the OnePlus is bad, it's actually really good but like you said, 1080P selfie video is just not cutting it in 2023. If it were my guess, selfie sensors can cost quite a lot of money so I do think this is how certain brands try and cut corners a bit to save a bit on costs. 1080p selfie video doesn't really bother me since I never record with the selfie cam but most do so I guess it depends on the customer and theres probably a ton of market research these companies do to figure out where to allocate their money before producing a phone. It's no longer a flagship killer. Chinese phone in Europe as expensive as Samsung. Nort 2T or even realme 10 Pro plus or vivo v25 or xiaomi redmi note 12 pro is more expensive than Galaxy A53. And oneplus 11T is more expensive than Galaxy S22.

My new OnePlus 11 feels great and comfortable to hold in my hands. It's display is gorgeous, no complaints really, UI is silk smooth without bloatware, and performance is blazing fast with 20 different professional applications that I use on my phone for my daily work. Good part is my OP 11 is already running Feb 2023 security patch and March is awaited end of this month. Really happy this time with my decision of trading my iphone 12 for the OP 11. Also got the OP Buds Pro 2 and the experience has been amazing! Good job OnePlus!

Minor hint regarding audio check - please pick songs with vocals next time, something classic people are familiar with like Tina or Bruce Springsteen :) That song you played sounds rather like a ringtone so it's hard to really tell if speakers perform well or not. PS. I assued it would be fine with KZbin policy if you include 15 seconds of some song in your video.

For the ones actually thinking of calling this a "flagship killer" My 3 years old OnePlus 8 Pro camera specs (a) 48MP IMX 689 [ 1/1.4 inch ] main sensor (b) 48MP IMX 586 Ultrawide [ 1/2 inch] (c) 8MP Telephoto [ 3x zoom with OIS] Ultrawide also shoot excellent macro photos. Pricing back then = ₹55k [nearly same] Not to forget a 2023 "flagship killer" is being overshadowed by a 2020 flagship. Insult cannot get bigger than this. I have said this time and time again, modern day smartphones of ALL BRANDS are crap(barring their most expensive 'Ultra' Varients which are too expensive).

But they did settle. Downward front camera back to 16mega pixels. No 3 times optical zoom only 2.2 times. No wireless charging. USB 2.0 instead of 3.1 to many subtle companies l compromises.

Oneplus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition full screen is still amazing over any punch hole phones. Compare Oneplus 7T pro Mclaren Edition vs Oneplus 11. Back circle camera looks great on the Oneplus 7T but i hated notch. Full screen is still great choice for me because i don't use front selfie camera alot. nobody video calls me, im not using face unlock either. i use fingerprint or pattern.

I have the new redmagic void and it's a beast i sold my ex iphone 13 pro max and bought this one+case+cooler(for my gf) and mora figurine except 2-3 little social media bugs it's the best deal,i wanted a gaming phone not a tiktok influencer phone,and fps stability on games system is incredible not even iphone 13 pro max was so stable in 1st days when i bought,if you play Pubg mobile or mobile legends this phone is a fcking beast and mora ai quite fun🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I couldn't agree more... But a flagship killer usually requires a solid camera system which the OnePlus outdoes the RedMagic on for sure. I guess it comes down to whether the buyer cares much for optics or gaming

The Samsung made SD8G1 was a dumpster-diving trash chip and even the S22U sucked at gaming with that chip. Samsung Fabs were sacked and the SD8G2 is now TSMC, so should be much better.
