Fantastic review! Can't believe you don't have more subscribers. Cool bike too. Btw you missed one photo out of the comparison not that it's a big deal just for next time. How have you found the modem comparison and call reception between the two? I'm not happy with the pixel 6 really in that respect.

Thank you! And oops, I didn't even catch that! I'm on Verizon, so I'm just grateful the OnePlus 12 works at all on it, since they're a very restrictive network. Pixel 6 had pretty average reception in my experience, and the OP12 is definitely superior. One frustrating thing though is that the OP12 seems to have slightly weaker wifi range. For example, my Pixel 6 stays connected to wifi wherever in my house, but the OP12 starts to lose connection strength sooner, while claiming a healthy signal still. For 4G/5G though, it's been excellent. Solid improvement over the P6

I think it's a fantastic upgrade, especially for the price! One downside (subjective) to consider is the size of the phone. I wish it was a bit smaller, but if you've used 'big' phones in the past, it won't be anything crazy. It reminds me of my Nexus 6P with its size and material finish

Man, I'm so torn between upgrading to 12 now or waiting for 13! In my opinion in the camera department it's more of a side-grade (compared to big upgrades in other departments), although the zoom camera is something I'd definitely love to have. When it comes to the mics, I feel like the Pixel is more pleasant and warmer, but the quietness of it is extremely frustrating, especially when trying to use google assistant or voice to text in a car (I know you're not supposed to use your phone in the car, but using it with voice seems much safer tbh, and having my pixel not understand or even hear me is so frustrating and distracting). I think the Pixel produces pictures that are usually more pleasant out of the box but OnePlus has more detail and it feels like after some editing it would be better than the pixel. Have you edited any of your OnePlus photos? If so, were you able to bring out some of that HDRness? Ultrawide on the Pixel is bad imo, and I feel anything would be an upgrade over that xD The video stabilization seems much better on the OnePlus and I feel like much of the color and HDR performance could be better after some editing. Is that the case? I also feel like the higher performance chip on the OnePlus is doing a much better job in video, especially in the night shots. Overall very nice video, especially for a small channel, I hope you have a lovely day! :D

Thanks so much for the feedback! You're totally right about the mics. It's a better sound but it's unrealistic with how quiet it is for day-to-day stuff. Unfortunately, the OP12 google assistant is slower to activate than the P6 (~2 secs vs instant), which is just as obnoxious as the mic not picking up everything perfectly! If you don't have a good reason to upgrade yet, no harm in waiting for the OP13. It'll have a design refresh and the latest snapdragon chip, but otherwise is rumored to be a fairly safe upgrade. The biggest killshot for my experience was the battery. Getting 2-3x the P6 battery life has made life so much nicer. Everything else is just a treat on top!

Pixel 6 owner myself. Very interesting comparison. Thanks! How are you experiencing the speed of the op12 vs ps6 ? Also how does op12 capture subjects in motion in a photo ? Is it a blurry mess or comparable to what P6 does ?

Speed (performance) is crazy fast on OnePlus. To be fair, the p6 was fast enough for me, but oneplus is much faster. (Note: for any phone, make sure to reduce the animation scale in the Dev settings to .5x)

Regarding the camera shutter sped, they're about the same: average. iPhone and Galaxy still tend to be better at quick kids and whatnot

Came here from your gcam vid. I like what you are doing. I own many OnePlus phones and now also the 12, but did a side step and went with the pixel 7. Lots of good stuff on the pixel, but the battery charging system on the OnePlus puts it and almost all other phones to shame. But those worries got me to explore the super battery saver on the pixel. That mode made the phone sooo much better to use. The way it white lists apps on the fly is perfect. Try it. It also helps keep the phone ready to grab and take comparison shots. But you have to always turn it on after charging. After using the super battery saver on the Pixel I almost feel like they designed the phone EXPECTING us to always use that mode. It gave me 10 hours of screen on time consistently. (OnePlus does that without battery saver) I'll put a comment on your gcam video...... I've been a gcam user on OnePlus 3t, 6, and 8t. Not yet on the 12, though. (New subscriber).

I love making these but don't want to make them just to hear my own voice lol The pixel battery saver mode was almost always on when I used my P6 daily, and you're totally right. The benefits definitely outmatched what you lose with it. Either way, OP12 battery is surreal - I navigated around a city with lots of skyscrapers, while working remotely with my camera on, while playing games over a break, and still broke even on 9 hrs SOT. It almost cheapens the hyped up fast-charging since all I do is trickle charge overnight

Hi, some of them said OnePlus 12's pictures are darker and not bright at all. Highlights and shadows are more darker. I'm thinking about upgrading to OnePlus 12 in perspective of camera, battery life and speaker quality what's your suggestion?

The speaker quality is fairly average, the camera is very good (though I'm hesitant to call it better than an iPhone 15 or Pixel 8 Pro), and the battery life is better than anything I've ever used or seen. Every day, without any battery saving mode, I regularly get 7-9 hrs of screen-on time, which is double any other phone I've owned. The only drawback, in my opinion, is the size of the phone, which comes down to personal preference. If it was a little smaller it would be perfect for me.

I own a pixel 6 and im glad i found this comparison. I'm Heavily considering the OnePlus 12. One feature the pixel has that i love is the assistant that screens spam callers. Does the OnePlus have anything comparable?

i traded in my bay blue pixel 8 pro for the flowy emerald green 16/512 oneplus 12 and i have been IMPRESSED with the oneplus 12 so that *could* tell you what you might want to do. i also have the violet s24 ultra that i STILL haven't even taken out of its shipping box yet as i am NOT excited to use it as i am the oneplus 12 which i use daily

Speaking whike taking video is tricky. Lots of phones actually use the extra mics to reject audio coming from behind the phone. ...... But despite that, I was interested in the audio of the two phones. The OnePlus was pretty good for nust voice and the music. (I'm a musician and have pretty much given up on using my previous OnePlus phones for music. The OnePlus 12 seems much better than my previous OnePlus phones.)

The onboard audio is definitely AT LEAST decent. I don't think I'd properly acknowledged how good the pixel's onboard mic was until I compared the two, but OP12 is still solid

Hey, be kind. The wobble issue CAN be pretty ugly on many phones. I was concerned going from pixel to OnePlus. Pixel is perfectly balanced and the off center camera on the OnePlus had me worried. But also in your support, in real life the OnePlus doesn't wobble. Luckily. My several cases also help even more. (Two OnePlus cases and three non oneplus. The non OnePlus were even more flat and don't rock at all.)

Yeah, I think tensor is the right idea for creating affordable phones with a good user flow, but like most products, Google is half-assing it. I wish them luck but I don't expect anything incredible.
