OnePlus change their marketing strategy with the 11 series. They stopped using words such as "Pro". The numbered models like the 13 are the flagships. Conversely, the lettered versions such as R are the scaled down regular versions. Personally, I like what they're doing.

I have a 13r coming (hopefully today). If One Plus had built the 13 exactly like the 13r...I would have paid the extra and got the 13. I passed on the 12 series because of curved screens. I do not care for the tapered sides and chrome looking trim on the OP13 and I definitely do not like the 2.5 curved screen...I want 100% flat. Hopefully One Plus makes a nice flat One Plus 14 next year!

Given the trends I think that may be the case. Definitely interesting to me that they decided to go with all flat on 13R but not 13 or vice versa. Really making the design part of the decision instead of just the specs, performance, and camera.

If you're looking forward to 14 model, remember that all the R phones have a much better trade in value than the flagships. You don't lose as much money. I think I'll be picking up the 13R just because of the flat screen option. My GF has a 10T and it's the best design oneplus had so far, if the 14 is somewhere between the 13R and 10T, I will be an instant buy for me. 13R for now though, I'm fed up with my 8 model curve glare.

No idea, but right now you can get it for $100 off from OnePlus with trading in any device any condition. Ie it's a reward for saying you're going to recycle the device.
