Anyone else watching now of Erica's videos recently? She just goes WAY more in-depth than other reviewers, without all the fancy B-roll. I personally really like the OnePlus 5T and might get it instead of the S8. I live the notification mute switch, big screen, and the design. I don't use speakers EVER unless it's for speaker phone, so I'm good there. I'm just waiting for some camera comparisons before I pull the trigger. Overall, it may be my next phone.

yeah i totally agree ive been looking at reviews for the one plus 5, 5t and samsung s8, and by far iv'e found the most useful information here, such as the Bluetooth 5.0 not supported on nougat i had no idea about this. i still cant decide with one to buy yet though :(

I've had this phone since December and I still love it, it's as fast as it was when I first got it, in fact even faster since rooting and tweaking a few things such as adding in an Always On display! I don't see myself leaving OnePlus any time soon. You get premium, attractive, simple Android for a great price :)

i really wanted this phone over the essential phone but the lack of network compatibility is a dealbreaker for me since i'm overseas,in a couple of years that i come back to the states for good then i may consider whichever phone one plus has out but for now it doesn't work for me sadly,still a great phone and great video review.

Loved the review just purchased this phone you really know what your doing. So the lower resolution display is not noticeable to you at all from normal viewing distance? Also random thing, your hands look so tiny in comparison to these devices, are you really able to use them? I have trouble using larger phones.

thanks for at least the quick review of the cases. i have watched like dozen+ vids so far of unboxing/quick reviews of this phone now. most show the clear case in retail box, most all have shown the reviewers cases. but not one has popped one on and said anything about them.

Hi Erica, I always have the same problem when I get a new phone. I went from the Oneplus one to the Oneplus 5T,and I'm having problems getting the screen adjustment right for my eyes. Do you have any suggestions? I.e. Default, srgb,dc3 or custom. I notice the panel is a bit warmer in color tomthe Oneplus one which had a cooler bluer screen. 👍

If there is anything I am interested to know more about, it will be the camera. Does that "Intelligent Pixel Technology" applied to the secondary camera cure the OnePlus 5's woes in low light? Or is it just a rather fancy name echoed in the announcement? The screen will be good, I am sure. OnePlus pretty much nailed it with the OP5 anyways, unless you find out otherwise. Performance and battery are not questionable as well. So really it is the camera. If they put up some decent camera manipulation then the OP5T shall be the ultimate smartphone that you can actually buy (ahem ahem...HTC U11+...ahem ahem) Oh and btw, according to +JerryRigEverything the OP5T internal design points out that OnePlus was really playing with the idea of waterproofing the phone, despite not having some essential waterproofing necessities that incidentally means no official IP rating. So yea, the OP5T shall do better with the splashes and rains than the OP5. Anyhow, looking forward to your in-depth review. Get well soon!

Bobby C go with essential phone. The design is much more enjoyable and it fits great for 1hand use. Fast update just as Op. And 50 bucks less.

The 5t for sure! The essential phone is just not that great. It's only benefit over the 5t is it's CDMA capability. If you don't need that the 5t is a much better buy.

Bobby C I don't think you can go wrong with either. The Essential is $50 or $100 cheaper than the base model depending on where you can buy it from. The Oneplus is the one I prefer though.

Namiie I like the design of the Essential Phone but I'm 6'4" and have large hands so larger footprint phones isn't too much of a problem for me. It's a tough one

Hi do you have any burn in issues on you pixel XL 2? I have mi second pixel XL 2 phone in the last 6 weeks . The first one with burn in after 3 weeks and the replacement unit with burn in now after 5 days . Absolutely terrible

Cool unboxing. Never heard of "the sick 🤒", but get well soon. Long time OnePlus owner here. Great phones! But I'm spoiled now. It's too hard to go back to no OIS and a decent camera after the amazing camera experience of the Pixel 2 XL. Immediate updates are awesome as is the tight integration of hardware and software. But I don't think it justifies its $1000 price. We need a disruptor like OnePlus in the market. Smartphone prices have gotten too gotdamn high!!!

TehGodLord I'm in a similar situation. We Canadians always get screwed on pricing lol. I think I'll go with the 5T. The development support is much better on OnePlus devices, so in 2 years you'll still find people making ROMs for it, just as there are still mods for the OnePlus1
