Technology in 7T is older. 7T does not have a nice resell value after 1 year from now. After 6 months water notch will disappear from all phones and 7T will look old. And a notch which cuts the upper portion instead of making the whole top left side unusable. Flat screen (THANK GOD) anyday better than curved display (less fragile, no wrong touches). And even after this you literally save 10k. Let's be honest you're not getting something huge after paying 10k more. About notch that won't appear, well we'll see how far is your punch hole going. Punch-hole is appearing in 15k phones now, so...

I have a dilemma! I still have the oneplus 2, and i want to upgrade to a new phone, most of the time i do 3 to 4 years before upgrading The deal is: I don't think i will like the curved screen.. I've never had one before, but I hate the idea of accidentally pressing buttons. And I drop my phone a lot which will probably break my phone faster on the oneplus 8 with curved screen? Oneplus 2 is insanely strong, i think i dropped my phone over a hundred times, some of them were while biking, and it's still fine! I only use a screen protector thats it, and never broke the phone or the screen. I doubt this will happen with oneplus 8, and it will be very expensive to repair the screen? But, I think the oneplus 7T not having support for 5g will be a big deal for me, since I do expect it to come pretty early in the cycle I upgrade? I'm more interested in having faster chip than a good camera. So oneplus nord is not really a good option for me. The price difference in my country is only 140 euro's between a 12GB RAM with 256 gb storage oneplus 8, and 8GB RAM with 128 GB storage 7T, which is worth it for me , especially with the faster chip of the 8. I'm also fine waiting (another 6 months or so?) for the oneplus 9, which will hopefully not have a curved screen anymore? I've also looked at other brands, but the one that got closest was the xiaomi mi10 and it also has a curved screen, and no oxygenOS ofcourse which I really like. Any advice? :)

Guys if I can get the 8 for the same price as the 7t then which one should I get? Is the absence of the Telephoto really such a dealbreaker?

I switched from 7t to 8. Overall 8 is better phone. Better screen, less intrusive hole vs notch, way better haptics, better speakers, much better battery, cameras same, even slight better on 8 cause better 865 image processing. And above all newest phone with grater Android support (who wants to keep long, I don't bother). For my perspective 100$ is more than fair pricw difference and it's worth it. Don't listen to people satananize 8, it's all because it's not revolutionary step above, but as i said it's better phone in every aspect.

You're right. Plus there's 5G which is future-proof, and curves are not that deep. It's a really nice Phone imo

@@techdroider Curvature is perfect, not like 8 pro where is too curvy and have some color shifting. On 8 its curved with almost flat experience. I love this screen a lot.

Help me! There's an offer going on in my country where Oneplus 8 now has the same price as 7T. So what do you guys think, should I go for 8? I'm not really a fan of curved displays, but I do need a bigger battery and a better processor since it's also 5G. Also, camera is not really a concern for me. I know the clear answer would be the Oneplus 8, but I still need your opinion.

Then 1+ 8 would be good for you, it gives u faster processor and better battery but slightly less camera performance... Just keep in mind there is no external storage, so it's better to get one with higher storage capacity...
