I'm a one plus guy,. Had the last three. Wife got the s21 ultra. It's clear to me she has the better phone. That 100x camera zoom,. And camera overall is far superior than anything I've ever seen on a phone. I think I know I will be switching when possible.

We have the same constellation. I have a OnePlus 9 Pro and he has a S21 Ultra. We both coming from the Huawei P30 Pro. But he is a little jealous of my OnePlus. I wouldn't want the S21 Ultra either. I just hate the Samsung UI so mucho and so does he.

The thing is today, the majority of youtubers are not reviewing a phone. They are reviewing a camera, and that is kinda sad, since they are reviewing a phone and not a camera. Sure, a good camera on you phone is great. For me, the Oneplus owns every other brand when it comes to speed, performance and clean UI! That is the key for me. If I want to take some really good photos, then I just grab my DSLR. Great video. Keep it up!

Bro I have a 8 pro. The trade in is absolutely bullshit. Samsung treats it's customers better and gives more value to their phones. Oneplus will only deduct $300 if I trade in my phone. T-Mobile is offering $800 dollars off if I trade mine in. I think they'd give you 500-600 in credit.

Every time I use One UI on a samsung phone it anoying how much better they've gotten when it comes to delivering consistent bug-free updates for more than 2 years compared to OnePlus phones. The one thing that made OnePlus phones worth the compromise in other areas. They need to step up there game in the software department. 9 Pro is a skip for me. I am honestly going to wait until the OnePlus 11 series to upgrade, since that will mark Year 3 of the OnePlus-Hasselblad $150 million 3-year collaboration, and the camera quality, while it still won't replace your DSLR camera, should be significantly better by that series launch. Plus, I just upgraded from the OnePlus 6 I got in late May 2018 to the OnePlus 8T in November 2020, which I only upgraded due to my fluctuating battery life on the 6, which made it a no-go for my job out in the field. So, by that token, I estimate that if I get 2.5 year lifespans out of these phones, then by mid-2023, I will need to upgrade again right around the time of the 11 series launch.

OnePlus did a good camera, but they screwed up with all the hype. They just injected in people's mind a super camera, and we all wanted a super super camera. And this was their mistake, because they have a good phone, but not what we expected. Taking that apart and comparing the two, I just think that will be only people preferences. I personally prefer OnePlus, because I like all the cleanness and all the smoothness that oneplus put in their phones. Lastly, just saying that you did another great video, really like when you do this videos exposing your opinion. I really agree that this OnePlus silver version is not as good, but I think that their pine green and black models are so much better. Don't understand why they only send this fingerprint silver.

They are really doing a lot of hit and miss, and always have. PR in particular have had a few bad missteps, based on cultural differences. I think sending the silver fingerprint magnet to all the reviewers is a small but very avoidable mistake. I also agree with you that the hype surrounding the camera ended up being a negative since they didn't deliver enough. I always had the feeling that Carl Pei was the one to keep track of what was important to the fans and what would fly in the west and what wouldn't. It will be interesting to see if things change now that he's gone.

I feel that Oneplus is no longer that company and I don't know if that was the reason to Carl Pei leave. After using my s21 ultra for the past 2 month, one thing I noticed is - they advertise as it can go as low as 10hz but I never once seen it going below 48hz. I have tried many ways but still could not get it below 48hz. It would be great if someone with more reach picks it up and spreads awarness.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra for work and I have the OnePlus 7 Pro as my regular phone... So I am familiar with both brands... I don't know what every one is criticizing about Oneplus 9 pro and I am using this phone for the past three weeks and I never had any problem and am very much happy and in awe with the performance and the camera. Reviewers simply hate and talk bad about this phone and it's camera, still don't understand that. A professional photographer should review the camera segments and there are videos of it where professional photographers review about the camera in this phone and they are amazed about the colour science and they are blown away with the photographs of of this device and it's really cheaper than the Samsung s21 ultra. Iam happy with this device. Yes had some heating issues in the beginning, but after the update there is not even any issues of heating, not even a warmth I am getting. I shot lot of videos and photos and did some gaming too and it's worth it .. mind-blowing phone

Well honestly I guess which device is for you is subject to the "what are your plans for the device?" question, I have an S21 Ultra and love it, but having rooted and modded almost every Android device without being subjected to tripping Knox security, I'm missing my ability to do the things at a system level that I have always been able to do on my devices. OnePlus offers that. High end specs, great software and the ability to do with the device what I want with little fear of crippling it permanently. Granted the cameras aren't the best, but for my use they are competent enough. I usually sell my non-daily driver phones but I'm thinking I'll keep the S21 Ultra cause I just like it so much as well as play with the 9 Pro when it arrives next week. Best of both worlds (for now).

There is literally no reason to get the 9 Pro over the S21 Ultra unless you like OxygenOS better than OneUI. The S21 wins in pretty much every category, even the cameras despite the Hasselblad hype. You can also get the S21 for the same price since Samsung discounts it so much and they beat Oneplus on updates nowadays as well.

It is very subjective, YT creators mark down the OP9P for colour shifting between lenses but this is for most of us totally inconsequential, as we rarely take a wide and ultra-wide of the same scene. From what I have seen from the respective main cameras, and this is where most of us care, as Pixel loving creators bang on about, there is little difference apart from nitpicking. If you really do zoom in for detail on the main camera photos or look for the tiniest of lost detail then the OP9P may be behind a bit, but really it is now being hyper critical for the sake of it. Obviously for those that care about zoom then the s21 Ultra is the best.

They claimed the 9 Pro has the best night mode with half the time of exposure, best video (because of more details in darker areas) + better skin tones which I could confirm in their shots.. overall just more detail (better than deep fusion).. they talked something about first thing Hasselblad did was colour correction and skin tones.. if they haven´t done more yet it should also get better with software updates over time.. I think in the end it all comes down to your own preference. Im still a fan of the consistency of the iPhones but really like seeing android phones finally turn back to real life looking photos as Samsung for example was really bad 2 years ago with colours..

@@NiklasScherer I've watched a few reviews/comparisons as well and my take away from most of them is that the OP camera is good, but not as good as the latest iPhone or Samsung. I don't think I've seen anyone so far that thought that the OP is the overall best right now. Inconsistency being the biggest problem. They clearly got the skin tones down though - SO much better than Samsung's, which is very important imo. I can live with some shadows being crushed or my cat turning fashionably blue, but faces looking "off" will ruin any picture instantly. (We are just so primed to see every little detail in faces, but we don't really know/care how a rock or a wall looks). That might possibly make me pick the OP camera over the Samsung in the end, but I've yet to seen a reviewer do so.

01:39 I recently bought OP9PRO and before I actually did, I was thinking about buying Morning Mist, same as on this review. But at the end I chose Stellar Black. And I am very happy with that choice. It has same texture on the back like Samsung. No fingerprints. I chose OP9PRO over Samsung for 3 reasons: 1. In my opinion its overpriced (like Iphone you pay for brand) 2. OP9PRO has clean android, no branding, etc. 3. European version of S21 has Exynos CPU and its on same price as Snapdragon. My last phone was OnePlus 5 which I bought on the day it came on the market, around June 2017 and it never let me down. I bought OP9PRO because I felt like I need something fresher. Still have OP5 and I still use it :)

USD1K+ is simply overkill for a mobile!! I remember when to notch used be around USD500. Never will I spend so much, guess 7T was my last from OnePlus. Recently got S20 FE for my wifey (USD370) and Mi 10T Pro (USD475) as an upgrade for myself. Very satisfied.

Also, the ultra has a waaaaayyyy better selfie cam(if that's your thing) compared to the one plus. Record video with them both yet? The one plus can't expose correctly in bright Backlit scenes. It's a crappy selfie cam sensor. The ultras is really really impressive.

I choose S21U over OnePlus9 pro (my opinion) 1. OnePlus lacking physical official store and lacking service centre. I unable to physically see the phone before buying(main reason). the samsung customer service is efficent. Warrenty or normal repair just in 2 hours. Yes, I just drop off my phone and they ask me to come back and pick up in just 2 hours. 2. Easy data transfer from old device to new via using SmartSwitch. 3. S21U have a better camera. 4. Trade in value deduction. 5. lots of free gifts. The list goes on forever, but the one I listed are the important points for me.

In India, At 65W we can light up the whole apartment and maybe even more. I personally think people won't need that much of power output if it's inconsistent over a year(degrades battery health much faster). Whereas, Chinese manufacturers always are the key inventors of cool tech and at much lower price point. Samsung on other hand has to do a lot of advertising, collaboration blah blah to sell their products and it works good although the thing is, in a couple of months or in a year that device tends to valued at almost 50% of the asking price and that's a golden dig because Samsung guarantees software updates upto 3 or 4 maybe of android version whereas Chinese manufacturers can't compete with this. That means a year old samsung is as good as a newer one on the software basis and at almost half the price. Camera is always a subjective part of Chinese manufacturers (excluding Huawei) whereas higher samsung devices always head to head to their competitors like Apple and Google and maybe outcome in some aspects. The hardware materials samsung uses are top notch no competition (like Apple). Great Display always been manufactured by Samsung. OnePlus On the other hand, is still a kid compared to Samsung. It borrows most of the things if not everything from other manufacturers. It's not cheap now as from 2015 OnePlus and it's Right to do a comparison with samsung or apple device. Go ahead, do a camera comparison with it's competition. (Apple's first).

The left one was S21 ultra but you named it 9pro and that I got to know clearly because the Samsung screen is better in the darker areas and also I later saw the side rails - black for Samsung, silver for Oneplus

Well the Price comparison speaks for it a €899 phone v €1149 phone.. Pay 250 bucks more and you'll definitely get more if price isn't a issue go for the S21 Ultra otherwise One Plus A great Alternative.... Great comparison and Honest view Matt.... You Nailed it.

I used both smartphones here for over 3 weeks now, and sorry Samsung, but the pictures of the OnePlus are (in most cases) sharper, more clear and have the more realistic colours. Just very rare pictures were better with the S21 Ultra. Also I don't like the haptic of the S21 it feels too big (for my hands). The OnePlus is more than 30g lighter (which is a lot for a phone), and a tiny little bit smaller, but exactly that tiny little bit made me drop the S21 twice (accidently, sure ^^). Yes nighttime video on the S21 is better, yes, the battery lasts (a little) longer, but hey, I fully charge my 9 Pro in nearly 30 Minutes, and be hones: Do you ever shoot important videos in a dark place? I don't.

One plus parterning with Hasselblad on the camera front has proved a hit or miss but future iteration will prove to be better.... As of now Samsung S 21 ultra is the best out there. Even the software experience and processor has seen marginal improvements.. No comparison..... Nice work......
