OnePlus Buds Pro 2: A solid touch of zen

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 are a very solid pair of earbuds, from a company with a good track record of audio products. After some time with them, I find myself reaching for the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 quite often, and for a particular reason that is very on brand for me -- and one that some of you might not totally expect.

3:36 thank you soo soo soo much for highlighting this point.. i am a person who is sensitive to in ear earphones and thats the reason i always end buying half in ear ones (oppe enco air 3, apple airpods) etc.. i once tride air pods pro and my good nees due to those air vents, i dont feel that air pressure in my ear as the air passes in and out creating same atmospheric pressure of the outside worls..which itself is an huge huge important feature for me.. i see ppl dont talk about those features in other earphones and or even mention about it. Thank you soo much for poitin this out, as i was going to buy these earphoens and wanted t oknow if they have that air vent feature...

Hey there! 🌟 First off, a big thank you for all the fantastic info you provide! I'm on the hunt for new earbuds and would love your guidance. I've got my eye on the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, but I've noticed they only support LHDC, AAC, and SBC codecs. My Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, supports AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, LC3, and Opus. I'm curious if the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will deliver a great experience on the AAC codec (I read a rumor about an LC3 codec update too). If not, do you have any recommendations in the ballpark of 150 EUR? Sound quality, volume, and solid bass are my top priorities. Multi-connectivity is a plus for me too. Thanks a bunch! 🙌

Great review! I'm tempted to buy these since they have great bass and good sound. But I own a pixel 7 pro. Would this be a good fit for it or should I go for the pixel buds pro instead? If I do pick the OnePlus, would I miss out on any features?

From what I've heard outside of OnePlus devices they are another above average pair. I'd get the pixel buds pro or Oppo Enco X2

The Buds Pro 2 are a step above the Ear1 in terms of audio quality. They support a higher codec(LHDC, won’t matter if you don’t have a compatible device), can connect to 2 devices at once, and have better battery life (in my experience). Personally I find the Ear1 to be more comfortable in my ear, but that could differ in your case. You also have the ability to control volume directly on the Ear1

Almost strange, that no reviewers compare the OnePlus Buds 1 and 2. It's not their first iteration, and the actual Buds 1 have all the same features, as the Buds 2 (even multi-pair, delivered through an update). So I'm not really sure, should we really buy the Buds 2, despite not much improvement being present? Pay more for them?

Cool tea break idea. As for me.... I'm driving with Tesla Full Self Driving (stopped ATM), and wondering if it is more stressful to use than just driving manually 🤣. That said, it's a cool feature. It has a great future. But for now, I'd say just use it where you know it's chill. Cheers.

Should I still buy these for $130 (with Oneplus App) if I have the S21 and cant use the LHDC codec? My s21 only has LDAC and not LHDC which is the codec the Buds2 Pro uses

If you have S21 go for Buds 2 Pro without any second thought, I am using Galaxy buds 2 Pro with my S20 FE 5g and Buds 2 Pro uses Samsung scalable codec over 24 Bit audio capability exclusive for Samsung smartphones. Irrespective codec I can assure you Buds 2 Pro sounds better than One plus Buds anyday and you will get all the app features due to Samsung ecosystem, Buds 2 Pro are the most comfortable buds I have ever tried, only downside is there is no true multipoint connectivity, Just like Apple they have restricted true multipoint to Samsung devices only with Samsung account. If you do not want to go with Buds 2 Pro then you can go for Sony Linkbuds S as well which supports LDAC on Samsung smartphones however I like Buds 2 Pro sound more than linkbuds S

RE2230418512600019 Exchange order. The left earbud of OnePlus Buds Pro 2 started to creak like the wind or a flowing stream. This happened 2 months after purchase. The crackling just appeared, believe me I just put it down and put the headphones back on the next day. Nothing happened to them, they didn't fall, they weren't mistreated, etc. More than a week ago, I reported a bug on the technical support chat where Request was accepted. To this day, despite 3 interventions in the chat, I have not received any send label, and Request is still on the first step. This is how OnePlus works. I do not recommend headphones, think before you buy, because first of all they are emergency, but what's worse, then you can't even send them back for repair, because no one at OnePlus is interested in it anymore. This is my opinion and the very unpleasant experience that happened to me, I will post on the forums to warn potential OnePlus customers.
