OnePlus do good on camera improvements over time. They never amaze out of the box. Its up to anyone if they are willing to wait or not for fixes. They enabled black version in my country but there is no promo anymore for 1899 EUR no thank you while Fold 5 is running promo 400 EUR off.

Exactly, I have the mate x3. I am happy with it. But there are some issues which cannot be ignored. For example the mic system is terrible on the mate x3 during video recordings. 2ndly not having Google support kind of sets the device back a bit. @averagedadofficial waiting for your review comparing both devices

Went Trick or Treating with my grandson last night, I generally take lots of pictures, but I decided to take the Open as opposed to my 13 Pro or S23 Ultra and I was extremely disappointed in the low light photography.

It is not great but as i said... sensor and aperture are the biggest on a fold so software will help soon.

My question is in regards to the blacks. When you have deep rich dark blacks. All other colors look even richer. When I see comparison videos between this and the Z fold, the blacks on the OnePlus always look a little more gray... How are the blocks versus the leading phones? I especially notice it when there's bars on a video or dark screen or dark mode. The blocks just don't seem as deep. Thank you

It's OLED so it has true blacks just like any other modern high end phone. Trust me when I say it looks amazing and that's in comparison to my Z Fold 5 that I have next to it. The Open is better.

@@kramdens1967 That could be it. In reality it doesn't really look matte at all, just noticeably less reflective than the glossy display on the Fold 5. Clarity between both is the same though with everything look tack sharp with perfect blacks. So far I'm liking everything about the Open more than my Z Fold 5. It's so, so good.

I think the reason OnePlus didn't mention the stylus is because it's Oppo. Now, we know that Oppo has left several European countries over patent issues, with Nokia suing them several times. So Oneplus can't promote or talk about an Oppo product in different countries. The only way to do that would have been to launch this identical stylus under the OnePlus brand.

All these grips about the one plus open are not deal breakers by any means. Lack of wireless charging is not a big deal. In the words of Floss Carter, this is a "shit, shower, and shave phone". I plug it in the morning and in about 30 minutes I have full charge from about 40 to 100. The other issues can be fixed with software as you said. As far as cameras go, they probably won't make too much adjustments with software, it is what it is. But, overall it's been the best foldable I have owned coming from z fold and pixel fold. So hats of to one plus for making me wanting to open rather than fold😂

My one plus open had noticeably terrible keyboard vibration lag on the cover screen, esp with the edge keys like p or q, I had to return it. is it the same with everyone’s? Or anyone with a find n3 experience this?

@@AverageDadOfficial That's so strange, thanks for the response though! Maybe it's a firmware/software issue? (i'm in canada). Typing, for example, "popopopo" felt significantly laggier than "hghghghg" for example, so some keys were fine, but others would throw off my typing, even turning down edge sensitivity and some other settings, trying different keyboards, etc. Maybe i'll try my luck in the lottery again and give a different colour a go.

The square AD merchandise design is nice. Omitting wireless charging and not mentioning stylus support certainly hurt OPs bottom line. Those and the trade in incentives are the main reasons I chose the Z Fold 5. Lastly, I'd prefer a live stream over a video. #Light 💡🕯🔦

I love this phone at least on hardware. As a huge Samsung fan I just find OxygenOS mediocre. I mean I don't hate it and im not sorry I bought it but I do miss OneUI. And I know a lot of people aren't going to understand that. Honestly the only brand I've had the chance to use that can give me everything OneUI does is Huawei and while I would love to get a Mate X5 or even the X3 it's just too compromised. Maybe Vivo or Xiaomi could give me what I want but that's a lot of money to spend on a Maybe. So I guess I'm enjoying the OnePlus Open until Samsung makes a Zfold with an outer display that is wider.

Based on massive reviews, yours included, l ordered Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 and it arrived but what a disappointment! The phone says English/Chinese but it's mainly geared towards Chinese consumers. The AI is 100% Chinese and it can not be changed!!! Google command, "Hey Google" also is not supported on this device. Lo and behold, l returned the phone back to HK costing me whopping $235. On top of that, they charged me $50 for admin fee and l lost $25 expedited shipping cost. WOW, that was one expensive mistake. ONLY stick to global version of devices, unless you're versed at that local language. Peace ✌️

Dude, i don't know what to tell you... you done everything wrong possible! the phone takes around an hour to setup and yes Google commands work fine. All evidence of Chinese can be removed easily. you should have contacted me before being do hasty and returning it, i could have sold it for a much lower loss than what you suffered. You need to do your homework before making such bid purchasing decisions. literally nobody has those complaints about the MF3. Stick to a Google or Samsung if i were you.

Hey Average Dad...love the info you put out. I must say I think I am going back to my z fold 5. I've been waiting for the OnePlus foldable since it was first hinted at almost a year ago. I've been using it for a week now and I'm just not that impressed. Let alone trying to find any kind of skin/case or better screen protector. I guess I can understand the software issues as this is OnePlus's first attempt at a foldable. (Just kidding OPPO). However, there is no excuse for the lack of wireless charging even though I could live without it.
