I love how positive Willie is compared to a lot of DbD streamers I've seen can be. Even playing a against a hacker he's talking about how close the games are, complimenting other players, even gives the hacker the benefit of the doubt that maybe he's just wrong or seeing things. Meanwhile it feels like the worst people on this game are so quick to call out speedhacks, or hacking/exploiting the moment they get hit. Even when I go through long gaps of not really wanting to watching DbD gameplay or footage, I'll inevitably check out OnePumpWillie and Otz when I do.

Actually he immediately cried hacker the first time he ran into Claudette but then he wasn’t sure and back pedaled and realized he could be wrong. It was at this point 10:53 that he then confirmed and the shock on his face, so as you see he did immediately cry hacker without sure proof.

You can call it back pedaling but "I think you're hacking but I dunno I may be wrong" isn't the same as the types of people who legit call hacking and report the entire survivor team/killer because they missed one swing and rage quit lol Or maybe I have an inflated sense of how common these types of folks are from youtube.

Hooking takes a lot of time and eases up on the pressure for survivors. Because he can hit multiple people quickly, it makes a lot of sense to slug with Singularity. It's just a different way to achieve the objectives but it doesn't come without it's own risks.

It makes sense to slug when you have the opportunity to down multiple people, but that's not what happens for 90% of the video. Also your objective is to sacrifice survivors to the Entity via the meat hooks. Literally learn that in the tutorial.

Good question! With singularity, each pod on a survivor increases overclock duration, which greatly buffs chase. Hooking removes these pods we spent time to attach. Also there is a large penalty for waking up next to a hooked survivor (heavy hinder and cant use power) and trying to lock onto a survivor remotely near the hook takes much longer. Secondly, we get to avoid all hook related perks (dh, ds, deli, we'll make it, etc). I don't run this strategy exclusively, but I recently discovered how strong it is, and am now testing via streaking to see just how good it really is. There are risks and rewards associated with it, the main benefit is that it allows us to snowball and win games faster than normal.

The one thing that would make singularity so much nicer to use: slipstream is now removed on being unhooked instead of when hooked. Between that and maybe a minor lock on decay buff (small objects blocking lock on for not even 2 frames resets progress) would make me love playing as it.

@@tfcbioshock I think I found out, from a comment One Pump Willie left. Apparently Overclock lasts longer the more survivors are infected with Slipstream. So, survivors not losing Slipstream until after they’ve been unhooked would allow Singularity to utilize that passive buff more often.

the slugging strat is really dumb imo. Kinda just makes the game less fun for both sides. Before you say “classic survivor main”, I’m literally a killer main. I play spirit and dredge most of the time. Just honestly a really lame way to play.

Right because every killer needs to have the same playstyle and win conditions, or the game isn’t fun. I mean, I get your argument, I play both sides and I definitely don’t enjoy being slugged half the match I get that. But looking at both condemn onryo, who I main and enjoy a great deal, and a slugging singularity, if you want to blame anyone, blame behavior. Because those killers powers create that gameplay, not the other way around. Neither benefit from hooking. At least with onryo she doesn’t benefit from slugging either lol. Both playstyles have counterplay, and honestly I don’t think people are actually frustrated about the playstyle itself, only that they don’t want to learn how to play around these playstyles so they throw a fit

However, as a counter argument, having to bring perks such as unbreakable to games in the off-chance that someone is playing a slugging playstyle is not something that people should have to do. Matches should not become impossible simply because you didnt bring a specific perk. Your entire argument is saying that “behavior stupid” instead of blaming the people who force people into an impossible situation. Yes, Behavior made the impossible situation possible, but people taking advantage of it are just as much, if not more to blame.

I try not to jump to conclusions about content streamers so I always check out multiple videos before being negative. This content is for some, just not me. @dwho422 I dislike slugging play styles too. However, there's a few reasons why Willie is using this play style with Singularity, specifically. Slipstreams are removed when hooking survivors. Survivors that have slipstreams cause Singularity to be quicker switching through cameras and overclock mode. Unhooked survivors gain access to DH, DS, Deli, We'll make it and other hook related perks. You can't set cameras that close to hooked survivors and it takes longer to attach slipstreams to unhooked survivors. For these reasons he's using a slugging play style because it essentially buffs the killer he is playing. The play style in general is annoying to go against, but Willie is using it for more reasons other than just being annoying, ending the match early or trying to snowball even though those events could happen, they're not the prime reasons for him using this play style.
