If this where an arcade game, I could imagine the box have a single, giant, cushioned button that you have to punch in order to move and attack. It would act like a D-Pad, depending on where you punch, that is direction the character moves. The harder you punch, the father you move, and the more damage your attack does!

I actually have a really good idea for a opm game. you get to create your own hero like in xenoverse but your goal is to get to the highest rank, along the way you meet people like saitama, genos, tornado, and have matches online. thats just the multiplayer. the single player would have a new story were you try to find out where you came from and why you wanted to be a hero. but there would be a plot twist like in knights of the old republic. man just thinking about it gets me excited.

I think that's largely because the song originally is very simple. 8Bit music only has 3 sound channels so only 3 notes can be played at once. Even a single guitarist can play 5 notes at once. Usually 8bit music doesn't even use all 3 sound channels since during gameplay you also have sound effects which need a channel.
