Ryan is definitely one of the rare singers that sounds just as good live as in a studio!! His vocals and lyrics has the unique ability to reach down deep inside you and touch your soul, and you get so caught up in the music that you completely forget your surroundings and you're singing out loud and as passionate as he does sand then you hear horns, car horns beeping and ppl yelling at you to move your ass bc the light turned green!!! It's freaking awesome!!!

Somebody to Love came from Songland, a show that Ryan helped create on NBC. Songs are presented to the 3 producers and then 3 songs are picked by the producers to be revamped and then 1 song is picked by the guest star to be recorded by them. The song that is picked is usually tweaked by the star to their liking after it's picked . That's what Ryan did to this song . So I'm sure his name will be credited also with the original composer of the song that he had something to do with writing it . If you have the NBC app you can view all 11 shows from season 1. It is a fantastic show and I'm not saying that just because of Ryan being one of the producers. Ryan is on every week along with the other to record producers. That's the best way I can explain the show like I said download the app and you can view what goes on you won't be disappointed!

I agree. Part of the reason is that they added a string section for the live version. In addition, since the studio version is bass and drum forward, it drowns out some of the nuance in the backing vocals. In this live mix, the backing vocals, including the choir section of "some-bod-dy-to-love," are crisp and clearer.

I can't count how many times I watched this. Violins following Ryan are the best thing they could do. Sounds sooo powerful! If he made one little mistake - we would hear it, because violins were following every note and there would be a "glitch" between voice and instrumental. The best of their performances. It's odd that they didn't include one belt in the studio version :( I didn't expect belting all the way but thought they might build up to one belt. Usually singers make studio versions hard to sing and sing it lower in live. Ryan does the opposite 😅
