i know this song was about his old friend and him drifting ways as they grow older but i'm still choosing to believe that this song is about missing the parts of who he was when he was younger and him evolving into this new person he dislikes. he sees that it's hurting and destroying him but he chooses to stay in that form and so nothing is left but to reminisce of who he was. i'm sure we're scared of changing and sometimes, we never expect to be the person we are today. even i, sometimes, am afraid of what i became.

I can relate to this song. I also have that one precious friend then. He was the one who makes me feel and know friendship was. Then, my idea of friendship and playmates were different. He knew that and so volunteered himself to be my friend. At first I don't know how to react on that. But as time went by, I saw how wonderful it was. I saw how he treasure me, our friendship and my presence and he made it sure I'm not being left out. Sadly though, that changed when we go to highschool. We went to different school in high school and didn't get any contact of each other. I meet him once in the mall when I'm already on my first year in college at the mall. That was the first time I saw him after we separated in high school. At that time, he was with his friends while I'm with my family. I see myself then walking towards him but stopped midway seeing how happy he was with the company of his friends, adding the fact that I can't just leave the accompany of my family to go to him. I really wanna go to him to at least say 'Hi'. But the situation forbade us. Also I don't really know how to approach him. I'm scared, as well as ashamed. I realize how long it was since we last got together. He changed and I too. I feel small and inferior comparing myself with him and his company. 'Will he still recognize me or will I just make a fool of myself there?' Until now, I still treasure those memories of us back when we're a child. Though I want to be connected with him again, I know I should just be content with that, with those memories of us when we're still a child.
