Aside from the appeal of uniqueness and Guzzi’s character, I suspect the deal-closer of the V85TT is the shaft drive.

That's a really clean, sharp, nonsense free review. Much appreciated and well done. I would like to hear your opinions on the reliability of Moto Guzzi in general as it maybe too early yo tell for this particular model. I'm in the market for a mid-range adventure bike. Really nicely produced and delivered, and enjoyable to watch too. It might have been worth mentioning some of the "negatives" for balance. I'm thinking about leaking oil seals on the drive shaft - there have been factory recalls for some - the way the lack of a functioning front mudguard leaves that lovely embossed eagle on the front of the engine caked in road spray and dirt if you get caught out on wet roads, and the way the exhaust cross piece, just inside the sump guard, seems to corrode way too fast if exposed to winter road salt. These aren't deal breakers, but are good for prospective viewers to recognise.

Powerband on an 850 OHV twin? Not much below 4k rpm? This is what progress is called folks. Or ever lighter flywheels. 45 years ago, the 850 T3 pulled from 1500 rpm and pulled hard from 2000 rpm. Ditto even big carbed LM l's... Progress....

Got a 2009 Stelvio, that has tubeless spoked wheels, why not the V85TT! Love the Stelvio, loads of character, but top heavy which makes low speed manoeuvring a bit scary sometimes, it's probably been the most unreliable motorcycle I've every had, expensive head rebuild, Speedo failure and replacement, main stand failure and replacement plus other issues. Love the look of the V85TT, just hope they've sorted it properly!

The paint schemes are absolutely rediculous. This is the first one I've seen that looks good. The bike is great other than that and I would consider buying it. Only dealer I found in entire state of Texas is in Houston and who wants to go there now🤔 the fact that they put cruise control is awesome. I also like that it has low maintenance shaft drive🏍️🏕️
@alandmorley5 жыл бұрын
good review, hope Guzzi put that lump in the rest of the range.
@athewake4 жыл бұрын
On the down side, they have a tall seat height at 830mm, so if you are slightly vertically challenged, then its expensive to lower the bike. On my Guzzi travel version I had to spend £230 on the lower seat (Just 20mm lower) then £500 for a shorter Bitubo mono shock giving another 35mm, plus slight adjustment on the fork yolks. The bike is now rideable for me. Its a real shame Moto Guzzi do not offer an adjustable height rear mono shock which would open up the market to riders that do not have 36 inch inside leg length! Other than that, I love the bike.
@simonnock5019 Жыл бұрын
I have a 28" inside leg and find the standard set up a tad high, meaning I can get tiptoes on the ground. I found a lowered seat on a Guzzi FB group for £150, and a lowered shock Spring on eBay for £90,forks I will do myself and all is good. Nowhere near as tall as the R1200GS I had.... that was redicously tall for a 5'5" rider...
